I'd like to announce that I'm the proud new owner of a set of all vinyl, wide, lowback suspension seats. I haven't had a chance to try them, or hell, even see them yet. I'll report back with my opinions on them as soon as I get a chance to try them. (fingers crossed)
My back and I would like to thank everyone for the input and comments. It's nice to be able to get un-biased opinions on something before you drop a considerable amount of coins on it.
I'd also like to thank Gary (turboblue) for his help and for just being a cool guy to deal with. I definitely recommend Davis Racing!
Oh and if you were wondering... After 10 weeks of sciatica, 3 doctor visits, several chiropractor visits, 2 weeks & counting of physical therapy (3 days a week), countless pain pills and a few sleepless nights... My back is showing some signs of improvement. Not healed yet, but better.
Thanks!

Glad you are getting better, even if only a little. Give it plenty of time to heal.......

Good to here. I hope you make it down to ride with us before I strip my buggy. I think we are going to ride Sunday with the Metroplis boys at Turkey.

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Keep up with you physical therapy and your stretching exercises at home, it takes time but you'll be surprised how much better you will feel, even after the sciatica has gone away. I work in a P.T. facility and people are really surprised at how much better they feel doing the stretching exercises even after they are better.

Good luck,
Sandra

Thanks for the support!
I was skeptical about the PT at first, but I can tell you that it surely does make a difference. I work on the stretches at home and at work throughout the day. I've been doing traction and I could feel an improvement after the first time. I'm looking forward to getting completely better, especially since those new seats arrived today. It's gonna be a tight fit and I may have to "customize" my shifter box, but they sure felt good sitting in the floor. The downtime has given me an excuse to fix alot of things... aka, spend a bunch of money!
Thanks yall!

Steve, I got the smaller Race Trim seat in my buggy, and I'm fatter'n you and got plenty of room in the seat. Mine is all vinyl and it gets soaked when I wash my buggy and its always dry by the next ride, which sometimes is only two weeks. I kinda like a seat to hug you a little but anyways, it feels more secure to me. The smaller ones will be easier to fit in your buggy.

Larry, How did you get your seats to dry. Do you cover them with plastic or something while you wash the Buggy? I finally had to take mine out of the buggy, remove the foam and ring it out and sun dry it. I replaced the string that ties the bottom in with an 1/8" bungy cord so I can remove the foam with out removing the seat.

Do your seats have cloth inserts?? Mine are all vinyl. I dont really do anything special. I dont cover the seat when I'm washing it. Sometimes I'll put a little box fan on it over night. Maybe it is still wet way down in the seat , but I never know it from sittin in it after just three or four days.

Hey Woody

Not sure what I'm gonna do with them just yet. I was thinking about hanging on to them "just in case" I needed them later on. Then again, I could always use the extra scratch... Hmmm, let me ponder on it and I'll get back to you.
When would you need them?

-Steve

It will probably be a few months. My uncle was up it your area this week. He is up there regularly. He can pick up if you decide to sell.

Hey Gary,
Love the seats!
I've only got one mounted so far. It's a tight fit, but will work out good. Since I've had this down time with my back, I've decided to make several changes to the buggy. The seats turned out to be only a small part of the changes. It's kinda like a chain reaction... First the seats came... Then with the new seats, you need more headroom... More headroom means cage changes. Cage changes turns into me with a Heineken in one hand, bandsaw in the other... You see where this is going. Making that first cut is the hardest thing to do! On top of all that, I've completely rebuilt my front end and converted everything to heim joints. The good thing is that I'm not in a hurry to get it done since the longer I wait, the more time my back has to heal up. I feel like I could ride now if I was careful, but why risk it? Sounds like a good winter project anyways.

I was wondering if you ever got yours in, and how you liked them?? I guess it's yet to be determined. I have a feeling you'll love them though...

i took a hot punch and put drian holes in the bottom of mine to let the water drain out other wise it just sits in the bottom of the set and lets the seat fram rust!
