 Post subject: 1641 help

haveing prolbems put new points in and plugs ranfine went to leve for work started spitting and spudring and died toed home and re set teh points ranfine a bout 20 mintes then died now it runs fine for aubout 5m then dies

Did you replace the condensor also? Also coils start failing after they get hot. Just a couple things to check.

Is it still pumpin fuel thru the squirters after it dies? When I was a kid I had a street beetle with a rusty tank that would run until the fuel filter would get clogged up, then it would quit. After the junk in the filter settled, it would run fine again for a few minutes.

This may sound silly, but you might check your fuel lines for strength, I have had instances where and old fuel line, after it gets warm might collapse and that would shut fuel off to your engine.

The key to figuring this out is to check to see if it is getting fuel or spark when this happens. Find out which one is missing then we can go from there.

found that coile was bad put 1 on and sofar sogoodand rew set points runs good
