 Post subject: idle jets

i have a 1915 with a vz 15 cam stock port and polished heads duel 40 delorto carbs and was wondering what size main and idle jets to use. right now the main are 150mm and the idle are two differnt sizes 50 and 55.

How does it run with what you have in it now. 50 idels may a little on the lean side.

Idle mixture screws.
How many turns out from all the way in does it run the best?

he fouls plugs all the time ill have him count the turns on the idle mixture screws

it runs best when they are about 1 1/2 to 2 turns out.

Chances are your jets are reamed out. Usually when you have two different numbers on some jets, they have already been reamed out to a specific size. The only way to tell what size they actually are is to get a set of gauges to measure the hole size. OR buy some new jets.

if it runs good full throttle ur main jets are probaly ok,i would start with 55 on the idle jets if ur fouling plugs that means here way to big and it will waste alot of gas,50 or 55 should be good

You might want to also order a size smaller qnd one bigger to play with.

i am running a 1915 with 36 delorto with a 40 idle and 140 main still puff a little smoke when you hit the gas hard had same plug for 3 years
