Hey Guys,
Its been a while scince i got to work on my buggy or comment much online. Me and my girlfriend just had our second son so time is limited. Well today and this weekend i will have lots of free time.. My problem is i cant seem to get my front tires to sit right due to spindle spacing against the trailing arms. When i put a straight edge on my trailing arms at ride height there is a gap of a little under .5in. So if i fill this gap with spacers it takes about 14 little spacers does this sound right?? Anyway after i did that and put it all back together when i was tightening the link pins i could tell it was binding up. the odd thing was when i was tightening it now the bottom is not up against the trailing arm so when i tighten it up it is so binded it wont travel up and down.. I dont know what to do next so some help would be much appreciated. I also added some pics of my front setup and the spacing for the spindle...

I had a similar issue with my front end when I went to bolt up my Combo spindels. Before you go to far make sure the king pings on in the correct orientation. They have a 3 degree angle built into them. Mine was the opposite of yours. The top trailing arms was farther out on mine than the bottoms. The driver side took 8 shims and the passenger side took 10 shims. I bolted the top (in your case do the bottom first) on with 2 shims on each side of the king pin. I noticed you do not have any on yours. The link pin nut only needs to be snug. Then tighten the cinch bolt. Thewn find out how many shims you need for the top and bolt it up. I ended up using a single thick spacer and a few shims on the passenger side. If you do this and the supension is still too tight then you may need to adjust the shim count and/or your link pins are probably to tight. The other method I intertained was to find out how thick of a shims i needed and make one to go on the inside of the trailing arms up against the bushings.

I will try this. the only question i have is do you think i really need to place 2 shims on both sides of the kingpin on the bottom arm?? Reason i ask i have to take my whole hub back apart (4th time). But if i need to i definately will i wanna get it done right???

Ok well i tried this. After doing all this it seems like my tires are still leaning out a little on the top. I stuck a level straight up and down on my tire and it seems the bottom of my tire needs to be out a half inch. When i do this it makes everything bind up?? Any suggestions..

What do you mean by the king pins in the correct orientation???? I never heard of this?? How do i tell where they go??

The flats on the King pin are typically ground on an angle. If they are in upside down or turned inside out (I forgot witche) they will make your tire point in at the bottom. From the looks of pic 3 that is what you have, Its hard to tell in the pic. Also I do recommend that you put the shims on both sides of the King pin. They are there for thrust washer bearings to slow down wear. Give ne a call. Its easyer to dicuss on the phone.

yeah i got it figured out. I still have a little adjusting to do and im gonna add a few more shims to the outter top to make it match the inner bottom.... If that makes sense. Here is what i ended up with and my tire is almost right.

Hey guys i never did really get this fully fixed.. I went ahead with what i thought was best. It kinda has some binding in the travel but i think this will go away with wear.. The binding was caused by having to space out the bottom of the spindle then closing the gap in the top of the spindle by tighten it out. This was the only way i could get my tire to sit straight up and down (still aint perfect)..
Thanks for your help guys you come up with anything else im game to try it.. I honestly think my spindles and arms are just not a good pair..

Good that you got it figured out. Mine are not perfect either. They had bind at first. After a hard ride everything will find its home. You could have a tweaked arm,spindle or beam. My parts were all brand new out of the box and I still had trouble.

Mine are all brand new too. Youd never no by all the rust that is growing on them lol..
