i have a 3 rib, with bus cv's on the tranny and car cv's at the wheel.when i bought my buggy they didn't put the clips on the end of the bus cv's.so the axel ended up poping out of the tranny.i took the axel's off and found out that the bus cv's would not go down on the axel far enough to get the clip on.what should i do.i thought about grinding the middle on the bus cv's down alittle.would that work????let me know something please.lilD

thats exactly what you do. shave the star splines down a bit. its best to do it in a lathe. machine them down so that the clip can be put on. it allows the star gear to slide over the ring on the axle. i will take a picture of one of my old ones tomorrow and post it for you.

if ur axel came out u got more problems than a clip holding the cv on,now when u put the clips on ur probaly gonna break joints now, trailing arm could be bent

I used to not run any clips at all and I had an axle "walk out" of the top cv twice, 2x3 arms were new.
It was like the axle just slid down due to gravity or something.
Did it when I unloaded the rear end over easy, rolling trail bumps both times.
I run top only clips now, no problems since.

My tranny sits a little higher than normal, due to slick-bottom frame, maybe that had something to do with it?
Still only had 24* cv-to-axle angle when sittin on bottom stops, though. 930's.

You never said what trailing arms you have. If they are stock length and width, all you have to do is find a pair of Thing axles or Porsche 924/944 axles. They are a perfect fit and have the correct spline length to use the bus CV's on both ends and allow the clips to be installed without ant modifications.
