I've got a EMPI short shifter need about a quarter inch to engage reverse can it be adjusted or do i need a new shifter rod

you can make an adjuster -- cut a piece out of your shift rod (about 3 inches) and pitch it -- weld nuts to the end of the other peices, and use a piece of allthread to replace the peice you cut out. remember to put 2 more nuts on the allthread before you put it in to use as jamb nuts when you get the adjustment you need.
