 Post subject: 3 rib reverse gears

well to make a long story short i hulled reverse and i need both the little and big gears my 3rib has the bolt under the what i call the eyebrow that holds the bearins in place .number or site or where ever is the best thanks guys!! :mrgreen:

The small gear is available brand new. The big one is not. You might want to see if you can find a good used one somewhere. Good luck with that. Try Long Enterprises. They might have some.

Is the reverse big gear the same as in a superbettle?????????????????????????????????????????????? :mrgreen:

Well i took the car {super beetle} tranny apart the gears are alittle differant the bus small gear had17 teeth the car had 15 which woul be better or so you would think any waythe gears are even made a little different the bus has a carrier that fits on each side of the gear kind of like a {C} shape the car is kind of like i think 5 rib can i modify or use a reverse linkage or will it even work???????????????? :? :mrgreen:

You must have the shift fork style reverse.
The Beetle tranny must have been the pin style.
You can upgrade the reverse linkage to the later style with the appropriate parts.

Gotta match the little gear with the slider.
IIRC the 15 goes with the 40 slider and the 17 goes with a 44 tooth slider.
Along with having the appropriate linkage.

well i have both little and big gears out of the car so ur telln me that all i haft to do is get the shifter thing if so whos got one???????????? :| :mrgreen:
