What size springs is everyone running in there MSD.I ran mine all last year with the ones that came in it new,but come to find out they are the heaviest which delays the advance the longest.

Change them with 2 light blue springs and put in the blue bushing for your advancement stop, and run the motor to 3,000 rpms until it reads 34 BTDC with a timing light, and let the motor idle where ever its at from there, this should work fine, that is what I am running now.

are the blue springs the lightest? In my kit, I didn't get a blue stop, what is the diameter of the blue stop? What's the reasoning behind putting the blue springs in? Is it to make your advance curve happen more quickly?

The small silver springs are the lightest then the blue ones. The lighter the spring, the quicker the advance happens.

The blue springs are set up to fully advance your motor from idle to 3,000rpm, because that where you want your full advance at 34 BTDC, you should have black, blue, silver, and red bushings in your kit. You want the blue bushing because you want the motor to be timed at 12-14 BTDC for easier starting and when the motor is running it will fully advance to 34 BTDC at 3000rpm because the bushing is set for 21 degrees of advancement.

does any1 run the msd advance with a turbo? I was told to lock mine and set it to 21 deg. but i would like to set up an advance again and was wondering what springs and stop to use. I'm running about 11 lbs.

I'm running a MSD pro billet dis. and a MSD boost timing master.

Your best bet would be to use a regular curve with a timing retard module of some type.

Have you run yours locked ? If not you should try it and see if you like it I run mine locked around 20-22deg.

I did have a plain009 dis. with points and was experiencing spark blow out at high rpm levels. so i converted over to msd. ever sence then i've had mine locked at 22 deg. but that seems to be too much on the bottom end i would like try it with an advance curve to see if i can get more consistent power through the entire rpm range. has great top end power but lacks a little on the botom end.
