I don't like Stewart or Jr. since I'm a Ford guy but it was nice to see Jr. win the first "race" of the season so he can let his step-mom and Budwieser cry a little. I think Jr. will be tough at the big tracks this year. Unfortunately! Is it just me or does it look like a boring year for wrecks. It will be tight racing and good racing with the new car but I don't think there will be much for take your breath away excitement. Now I can only hope Kenseth gets it together this year a little better and turns out on top!

It's all about the $$$$$$$ and the efforts for Dale Jr. I am happy to see him win even it is not the big show yet, time will tell how well he will do with Hendrick motorsports this year, by the way, I hate Gordon and Johnson though.

The end of that race was a bunch of bull shit!!!!!!! You let that be any other driver that passed the pace car, NASCAR would park their ass on pit road till the end of next season. But because it was "THE 88" it's ok. He was even warned numerous times. After working for a race team, I now see how he is catered to by NASCAR. We like to say he drives a "company car".

there is a rule in the books about not passing the pace car, but when you look at the intent of the rule, it's so that you don't gain an advantage on the rest of the field. Jr occasionally surging ahead of the pace car did not, in NASCAR's opinion, violate the spirit or intent of the rule, so they deemed it okay... just as they deemed Biffle's win okay because even though Biffle couldn't keep up with the pace car (he was running out so went slow to save). If that had been Jr last year at Kansas instead of Biffle wouldn't you say NASCAR was displaying favoritism then, too? That said, I do believe some Jr favoritism exists in NASCAR, but I don't think it's intentional. As much as NASCAR is a body made up of individuals and you can't control every individual, absolute objectivity will be hard to achieve. There are a lot of Jr fans in this world, and I would be surprised if that didn't include a certain percentage of NASCAR officials, whether they wanted to admit it or not. - Sniped from speed forums

I am happy to see Jr. win for the fact that he has been consistent as hell and been in a few until the end, and this D. Marks guy likes him :D . As far as passing the pace car goes, yes that should be a violation. There is a reason that car is there, to lead the field and how can you not call passing it when you are low on gas not gaining an advantage? I don't see taking away the win, that would be rude - possibly a point reprimand. If you say Biffle did it then he should have had the same repercussion.

P.S. It's 124 degrees outside right now, bring your speedo for a tan

Gooooooooo KURT!!!!!
