Sorry still new to all this stuff. This might be a dumb Question. I have a ball joint front end with Thing Front Spindles on it. I was told to put regular vw ball joints on the top and put THING ball joints on the bottom? Is this correct? If so I read that the THING ball joints are pressed in from the BOTTOM??? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

On the thing front end both upper and lower joints are pressed in from the bottom. I do believe that the upper bj can be used on thing spindles but not sure if you can reverse the joint on lower bj to work with thing. I have all four thing joints brand new i'll sell to you for $65 shipped. I think I paid $23 a piece for them.

GREAT. Thanks for the info. My ball joints are wrong then, they are pressed in from the top. About the joints you have for sale, I'll take them. E-mail me how to get the money to you.
Thanks, Shane

I'm not sure which way the ball joints press in from, but I have done the swap before. You can use beetle arms and ball joints for the upper arms as long as you use the beetle alignment piece that the ball joint goes through, however, the thing ball joints are a little larger and stronger.
On the lower arms: you can use the stock beetle arms. The lower arms will have to be swapped right to left and vice versa. You will also have to replace the lower beetle ball joints with the larger thing ball joints. That's a hell of a deal for DVS1's ball joints so I'd get all of them. If you ever break an upper balljoint, you can replace it with a beetle ball joint with no problems as long as you have the correct alignment piece.
