Larry-I have some well-used firestones for the rear, but no wheels. I also have a new 4-puck if needed. I have a weber 44 that needs repair. I may have intakes and air cleaners as well. You have my number.

This is Michael Lively, Larry's son. I've seen this guy coming in and out of our shop now for sometime trying to get his buggy done so he could start riding. I wasn't on the ride last weekend but from what I heard he looked like he was lost knowing that his buggy was gone. We have a good group of guys here willing the help get him back up and going and with a little help on the parts I know we can put a smile back on that man's face. Anything you have just laying in the corner that your not using and you know you never will could help this guy out. We're all buggy riders here and we know how it is to see a friend broke for 2 or 3 weeks trying to get his stuff fixed just so he can make the next ride. Just imagine losing almost your whole buggy. I have a paypal account setup for the shop that can be used for him, so if you would like to donate it doesn't matter how much, every little bit will help get him closer to taking that first ride he was hopeing for. The paypal address is Ballistic@bellsouth.net. If you have any questions on stuff that is needed just give us a call here at the shop at 865-882-0093.
Thanks Guys, just remember you are helping a man that once helped us by serving our country to defend our freedom.
Michael Lively

hey guys, so glad to see everyone stepping up to help this guy out. cant imagine what that was like just standing there watching your buggy burn to the ground. after 19 years im kinda attached to mine.and he had worked so hard getting it ready to ride.howard and i will take care of his yearly permit for windrock when everyone gets his rail back together. we could'nt think of any thing else to do to help . wild bill let us know what else you need ,even if its just a big kettle of chili or something to feed everyone that shows up to help put it back together, please let us know. thanks to everyone .just goes to show ya that BUGGY PEOPLE are a special !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks again ladybug

Wildbill, I have a 1679 (88 mm) complete motor (except p.p. and clutch disc and valve covers) with a 2 bbl progressive on it that I will give him. All sheet metal is there, generator, vacuum dizzy, alum pulley, flywheel, intake sysytem, etc. It was locked up when I pulled it off my buggy, but now you can turn it by hand easily. It never knocked or anything. I changed flywheel and think I set up endplay wrong. It was about 7 years ago, when I first got back into VW's. Its built out of one of those blocks that doesnt have the oil sending unit hole in the normal spot, but the rest is same as T1 (T3, I guess??). I'd think it could be drilled and tapped for normal sending unit. I ran without a sender like a jackass. It ran great until I messed up the end play while putting a lightened flywheel on it. (Like I said, I was just getting into buggies, give me some slack :D ). I'm sure a set of bearings, maybe polish the crank, and it will be fine for a good while.

Anyways, I called my buddy Tim at Southern-Buggies in London to see if he would donate a clutch disc and valve covers for it. He said if I brought it to his place, he and I would rebuild it and he would donate whatever it takes in parts and labor to rebuild it and make it turnkey!!!

We cant do it until June 8th. If you need it quicker, you are welcome to pick it up at my house at any time.

Let me know,
Larry
