Keep us posted on his condition, that didn't look to good at all. He will be in our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

I was asking for Medflight as precautionary measure. If he did need it , but he didn't. Those guys flying love to fly as much as we love to ride buggys. They don't mind getting in the air and being canceled. The hits he took warranted a trip to the hospital for a normal man...Good thing we aint normal...He is a Superman. :!:

The guys name in the accident was Eric Cassidy. He was fine, he only had a small cut on his leg which needed no medical attention. Thank God for the helmet on his head, it took one hell of a lick on the ground before being slung off of his head. But as for the buggy frame, it is scrap metal. It did it's job in keeping him safe. He took 5th place in the hillclimb, and also winning 'best of show'.

Getting back to Wilborn's hill climb. Smallest turnout yet. I see a trend. The big boys come in, blow everybody away and leave richer. Who wants to beat there stuff up for the glory of others,, other than me. If we had a second class for the regular buggys I would still finished last. I dont need a second class so I can win , I need a second class so I will have someone to compete with. It won't be long before there are less than 10 competing and about 10 watching because why should the regular buggys sit for an hour watching the same old buggys hit the same old hills. The majority of the buggys aren't entered because they feel outmatched. Don't get me wrong , I love this stuff but how long will it take to get burnt out if I am the only regular buggy signing up. I'm seeing more and more buggys strictly built for hill climbing spanking the rest of us Woodsbuggys. If I'm wrong and speaking trash please forgive me. I Iook forward to the July climb in Ky and hope we have a record attendance. :|

I agree with you firebuggy. 8 buggys was not enough to have a good climb, for the park or the spectators.

I understand completely what your saying Firebug. I know that even though we had a great crowd at D & K there were far less this year than in previous years. I figured that it was because of gas for one, but also there were a lot of other things going on. There was the BIG party at Wellsville, Wilborns Hill Climb Comp., Windrock had a big thing going on down there, there was D & K and I'm sure there were others also. Hopefully, between all the competitions going on in different places, between them all someone can come up with a way to even out the playing field for us all. I know it would be a hard thing to do. I sure would hate to see them end for lack of participation. I think that you and others will like the hill climb competition coming up in July at D & K. I know I am. You just never know what's up Gizmo's sleeve.  :o :o

Ok,this has been a tuff subject but Iam going to try and tackle it win or lose someone has to make a call on classes.I have heard alot of talk about how to break classes down, but just when you think you got it figured out someone brings up a potential problem, thats good thats how we can work through this with imput from the competiters.I for one want to see the hill climbs continue, and I have not even ran in one, but I paid entry fee in march for support, and I know people who had broken buggys this past weekend but they still paid an entry fee for support of the sport, regardless of where your from or what type of buggy you have I think we have a great thing going and we need to continue and support it where ever it is held.I have gave this a lot of thought and here is the class break down I think will work the best and be fair to everyone,I didnt come u with this alone it has been discussed with alot of people and they seem to think it will work,so here it is

Pro/open
This class would be open to any style buggy chain drive,v-8s,conventional, whatever This would also be the class for your serious hill climber or heavy hitters you know who you are

Sportsman class

This would be a class for your heavier buggys, that is not built just for hill climbing for example motor size, built trannys,2-4 seaters, bigger tires or maybe someone that may not have have been buggy riding a long time, this is where we would have to police our selves. It would also be mandatory to move up to the pro/open class in the next event if you post times as fast as the top five or so in the pro/open class.

I know there will be flaws with this but we have to start somewhere, before its to late

Thanks Sharpshooter

I think that could work. I still say keep the pay out smaller than the open class to keep people from going to the sportsman class.

Good work Sharpshooter you do a lot of work to keep this going. I would like to say thanks for doing so much to try and keep this going!!!!
