Well today gas here in Knoxville jumped up another 4 cents to $3.63 for regular and $3.83 for 93 octane. How has these price increase affected you and what you do during a week.

I have let the wife drive my truck since she drives 11 miles to work and I drive 59 miles to work each way. I invested in getting a tuner for the truck to improve gas mileage on it from 13 mpg to 17mpg in the truck. The car a 07 Dodge Caliber is getting 29 mpg so far. We only go to the store or anywhere else only when its necessary. I haven't even looked at my buggy since Alabama hill climbs. Hope to get it out this coming weekend. SO what have you done that different with today's skyrocketing gas prices?

its 3.95 here today for 87. yesterday it was 3.79. Its getting crazy but they got you by the big ones. I drive a F250 gets about 12mpg and maybe 16mpg on the highway. its gonna be 4+ here for memorial weekend next week guaranteed.

My total fuel bill last month was $4300.00 which sucks!!!!! But I still have to pay it or get on welfare. The oil company’s have us by the balls. All the years of cheep gas got all of us used to driving every where any time. Now the high prices is hurting us since we are all used to being on the go all the time. I have a friend in Canada that says our gas is still cheaper than it is there. He says our price now is still cheaper that it was there 2 years ago? Buggy riding has gone from 2 times a month to 1 trip to D&K a month. I guess we will have to get used to the prices I do not think it will ever be under $3.50 a gallon again.

Your right Bruce. Gas will never go back down which sucks. Even if barrels of oil goes to $40 barrel it will be Still $3.50 or more a gallon. I don't get it when the oil companies are posting record profits yet gas is still climbing. Supply and demand have sidetracked or something for the monetary value and the product value to be like they are. We are helpless until something drastic happens which only means that it will go even higher.

I ended buying a 1988 Honda Civic to drive back and forth to work. I bought it with 98k miles, its a 1.5 4 cylinder 5 speed. I got 45mpg on the way to Cincy and back and average 40-41mpg drving back and forth to work. It was costing me around 90 bucks a week to drive back and forth to work and now I can drive to work for 30 bucks. Its getting ridiculos, and its going to get worse before it gets better. My car will save me $3000 in gas a year if I just drive it back and forth to work, but I drive it everywhere so it should save me more than that. Seeing how I only paid $700 for it, its already paid for itself and I have only had it about 3 months.......and when it finally bites the dust I can scrap the cat converter and the rest of the car and get all of my money back!! Talk about a good investment!

That sounds like a Ford Escort that I bought from Rock one time.....It had a go-zillion miles on the little 4-cyl....Starter was messed up, and rather than buy a new one, my lazy as dirt ex-husband would just always park it on a hill or make me push crank it..Anyway, we kept it for 4 years and ran it wide open from Ga to La (where he was from) every other month, and put another go-zillion miles on it  . After about 3 yrs he finally got a new starter for it, but it never once gave us a minute's trouble and we sold it to some people from New York and they were still driving it, last I heard....We were stupid to sell it....I'd love to have it back...It was a tough little car, you couldn't blow that motor up and it got unbelieveable gas mileage.......

Sorry John......I think I hi-jacked your thread......Ooops....

Although I hate paying such a high price for gas, It hasnt been as bad for me. The high gas prices have made motorcycle sales go through the roof around here. Which has ment raises, more hours, and more money. Some of you may want to look into a motorcycle for your comute if it is a possibility. I went from around $60 a week in the Ram to less than $10 a week on the Hammer.

It's a good thing we don't have to pay to fill up our Humvees, I would be paying the government money. They suck down the MOGAS and JP8. I haven't paid a dime for gas in about eleven months, just thought I'd throw that out there.
