It sure would , but that sure would be boring, wouldn't it? :)
On the opposite end of that scale, I know of a couple guys that can get in just about ANYONES buggy and make it climb better than its owner can do! THAT'S skill.

This is true. Yankee and I had pretty close to same parts on our buggies before I got my new motor, same exact chassis too, and they were like nite and day to drive. Neither one better, just both different.

If you think figuring out the rule is hard ,Try putting on a event and making everyone happy or running a park and keeping every thing just right for every body, And if you won a hill climb no one like you any more ,Well i guess i am in the wrong business. It would sure be nice to only worry where you was going to ride at the next week, Sound pretty good to me. Where we riding at next week. :x

AFTER REVIEWING WHAT EVERYONE HAS HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE CLASSES IN THE HILLCLIMB. WE ARE OFFERING A 4 CYLINDER CLASS AND AN OPEN CLASS. IN THE FUTURE THE OPEN CLASS IS FOR THE EXPERIENCED AND THE 4 CYLINDER CLASS WILL BE FOR THE NOVILIST. THERE WILL BE MORE THAN ENOUGH PEOPLE TO RUN BOTH CLASSES. MAYBE IN THE FUTURE THE OPEN CLASS WILL HAVE A LARGER PAYOUT DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF DRIVERS PARTICIPATING. SORRY IF WE STEPPED ON ANYBODY'S TOES.

NO ONE WILL GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, BUT THIS IS OUR ATTEMPT TO EQUAL THE PLAYING FIELD.

Oh, I thought you were both handling it. In any event,l the planners should do it how they best see fit. Nobody is forcing anyone to run. Maybe after a year or two of doing it several different ways, one will stand out as the best way for all.

W.P. it started out 1000 then 2000 and people were lined out the park trying to get in. It cost me 500 just to come. and thats not bad .it's like when I ran dirt tracks I don't have to win, I just want a chance . And not just to break even. like I said how many showed up for the braggin rights hill climb? were they lined out the gate? If not then why change.I have to drive by 2 places to ride just to get there. And it cost too much for what they have there.
If that place is worth the price of admission, then DanK is grossly under priced

I know this is a little different, but at the Speed Pit they run around here, they have a stock buggy class, must have a one barrel, moddified buggy class, 2 barrel up to 1915, then they have a 2 wheel open where u can run stroker or V6, V8 or whatever just no nitrous or blowers. The 2 wheel open class has V8 S-10s and some other fast V8s but 90% of the time a buggy wins it because of the power to weight ratio.

The guy that runs the Speed Pit threatens to close it every year because of all the bickering........its hard to make it fair in everyones eyes. What I think is fair might not seem fair to you. I dont know of any way to make it a fair competion for all or I would tell you, just do it as best you can if people don't like it they don't have to come, at least thats the way I see it. My uncles have been running round track for years and they run a street stock with 10k just in the drivetrain and if they win its usually anywhere from $300 - $400 ....doesnt seem right to me either but they love racing, so I guess they are willing to spend that much just to win a few hundred bucks.

From what I have seen and heard about the hillclimbs so far, the payouts have been pretty good in my opinion. I cant wait to ride at D and K and all of these other places. Just my 2 cents worth.........Donnie

OK Tony , where do I run,,I'm running a 4 cylinder but I'm experienced. I have entered every climb since and including Morris Mountain. I run them but have yet to place. And does the 4 cylinder that has over 2500 cc displacement still run as a novice,,or novilist? And does the CD with 4 cylinder run as novilist?,,Heck I don't reckon it matters just put me somewhere. :?

The hillclimb will be on Saturday May 24, 2008 starting around 11:00am. Drivers meeting will be at 10:00am at the pavilion. They will be having dirt drags, barrell race, and atv mud bog. You will have to call Leroy at 256-338-2473 for the times and days of these events.

No, you can not run in both classes. You are either a novalist or an expert. This is a democracy, you have the right to choose what class you run in. We don't want the turtle to be trying to run against the hare. But if the turtle is the only one who has the race then you are a turtle and you need to stick with the other turtles.

He played lead guitar in my band for years he was born with hart problems and it got the best of him and his wife stoped eating and just stoped living 6 months later she was dead .I said they both passed away at the same time ,it just took her longer to stop breathing. they are booth buried side by side with no marker. My friends deserve beter so i'm gona use my money i was going to use going riding to get them a head stone

If I must point a finger, the only Hare that is going to be there is ncbuggy, it looks like. But you bet that Pop's will be giving him a run for his money.

Rocks, we will catch you at the next climb. You take care of your friends. We all understand.

Update on hillclimb for memorial weekend, there will be only one class just like always a run what you brung and hope you brought enough with $1000 dollars to the winner. We are still trying to figure a fair way to break classes down before our big race in sept.but until then its run what you brung. There will still be a womans class paying $250 dollars to win,$100 dollar for the ugliest buggy and $100 dollars for the slowest combined times on the hill climb and $100 dollars for best show (flip). We apolagize for any inconveinence on the short notice on the rule changes, but if you can make it come on out. There will also be some barrel races and drag races on sunday afternoon

Thanks David (sharpshooter)
