Usually makes it leaner.

If you don't have the compressio to support that octane it is a waste of money to use it IMHO.
Octane is the resistance to ignition.
Higher the octane, harder it is to light off.
Pump gas will fire before race gas unde the same conditions.

I finally got the combination figured out with my engine the way it runs problem, I bought $300 worth of jets and venturi's to try to get the engine to run right, it has been a long process. I ended up putting in the 44IDF upgrade kit in it with 70 idle jets, 145 mains, and 200 air jets. It was running so well, I ended up breaking my 930 CV and stripped the axle this past Sunday, I was also running 5 gal. 93 octane pump gas and 2 gal 109 cam2 racing fuel. It is a 2276cc engine.
