THINGS WILL BE DONE A LITTLE DIFFERENT AT THIS HILLCLIMB. THERE WILL BE TWO CLASSES FOR BUGGIES. A 4 CYLINDER CLASS AND AN OPEN CLASS. THE CLIMB WILL CONSIST OF THREE CLIMBS PER DRIVER ON THREE DIFFERENT HILLS. ALL THREE CLIMBS WILL BE TIMED AND THE THREE TIMES WILL BE COMBINED TO DETERMINE THE WINNER. THE STARTING LINE AND FINISH LINE WILL BOTH BE VISABLE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL. ALL TIMES WILL BE POSTED ON A BOARD AFTER EVERY PASS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL FOR EVERYONE TO VIEW. THERE WILL BE AN AWARD CEREMONY AFTER THE HILLCLIMB AT THE PAVALION. EVERY DRIVER MUST BE PRESENT AT THE AWARDS CEREMONY IN ORDER TO COLLECT THE PRIZE MONEY. A TIME WILL BE POSTED ON THE TIME BOARD IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE HILLCLIMB FOR THE AWARD CEREMONY. BE SURE TO ATTEND BECAUSE WE WILL ALSO BE AWARDING THE "UGLIEST BUGGY" FOR A PRIZE OF $100.00, "BEST OF SHOW/FLIP" FOR A PRIZE OF $100.00, AND "THE SLOWEST TIME COMBINED ON ALL 3 HILLS CLIMBED" FOR A PRIZE OF $100.00. YOU MUST BE ENTERED IN THE HILLCLIMB TO BE QUALIFIED TO RECEIVE ANY PRIZE MONEY.

$500.00 GUARANTEED 1ST IN 4 CYLINDER
$500.00 GUARANTEED 1ST IN OPEN CLASS
**MUST HAVE 10 ENTRIES IN EACH CLASS WITH A $25.00 ENTRY FEE TO CLIMB. IF THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH ENTRIES IN THE OPEN CLASS, THE 1ST PLACE MONEY WILL ROLL OVER INTO THE 4 CYLINDER CLASS, MAKING THE 4 CYLINDER A GUARANTEED $1000.00. ALL REMAINING ENTRY FEE MONIES WILL ROLL OVER INTO THE RUNNER UPS, 2ND THROUGH 5TH PLACES. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY WE FELT TO EQUAL THE PLAYING FIELD.

WE WILL BE OFFERING A WOMEN'S CLASS IN THE HILLCLIMB ON A MODERATE HILL. IT WILL BE A $25.00 ENTRY FEE AND WILL PAY BACK $250.00 FOR 1ST PLACE. THE REMAINDER OF THE ENTRY FEES WILL PAY OUT TO 2ND AND 3RD PLACES.

Why combine the classes when a vw won the first time? Besides I don't know of ten buggies with a v6 or v8.

It's a good way to get more V6's and V8's , when they know they aren't competing with the VW's. Also it's a good way to get more of the VW's to enter when they know they aren't competing with the big V engines. 8)

Well just my two cents, But I thought everything went great last time. The so called "little buggy" with tractor tires beat the so called "big buggy" with 44", and a lady out climbed 50% of the guys. You're right lets change it. :? :? :?

WE FIGURE BY BREAKING IT INTO CLASSES IT IS A WHOLE LOT LESS INTIMIDATING FOR THE AVERAGE HILLCLIMBER TO ENTER. WE FEEL THIS WILL HELP ON THE AMOUNT OF ENTRIES IN THE HILLCLIMB.

What???? What's that you said Firebug? More guys may show up if they don't have to compete against what?
Sorry buddy I had to point it out.

I said the same thing. I guess he does not like anything but VWs? :?:   Hell Pinto you have a Pinto motor in your buggy and it should out run any V6 or V8 with all them goodies on it? This seems unfair to the Chaindrive guys, most has V6s or V8s. But I do think you need a smaller class. I would make 2 classes on the same hill 1 would be for $250.00 1st place prize money, the other class for the Big money. But why change it the last one went very well!!! And why is it one minute the hill climb is on the next it is not now it is back on again????

Man that thing just launched when you stomped it. I guess everyone is just afraid they cant beat you if you take your wings off of it. If it had stayed on the ground you would have beat Giz by a second or two.

I will miss you Rock,,,please come.. What's wrong with switching up the rules a little. Wildpinto is working hard to make this happen. Heck yea I'm intimidated by VW's and CD's but I enter every event that comes along and want everyone else too also. :?

Be careful Brucey,,,when you say "all VW" you might have some aftermarket parts in there  , It's 4 cylinder class and bigger class. It means that each class will have first place if enough show up. 8)

Tony, ya know I love ya but:

Wilborn's needs to ask themselves when the last time that 10 CDR's were even in their park at the same time much less entering the event. A CDR has never won, so why basically ban them from the events? People love to hear those big V8's and see what they're going to do after the race. I think It's time people start riding somewhere else. Surely there's a better place to ride in AL that doesn't cost so much to get in? Aetna isn't in AL but it's just up the road and has much better riding, has nice city cops that like seeing us there (yes, I know for a fact, I rode there two weeks ago) and it's free.

Leroy did call me, and yes I don't care to share what was said on this forum because that's how THEY decided to let me know THEY banned me, on this forum thru a PM. Wilborn's don't seem to have a screen name and sharpshooter says he doesn't represent Wilborns and Leroy doesn't listen to me on the phone, so I'll just post here:

While talking to Leroy I discovered talking to him is like talking to an answering machine, no matter what you say he won't listen to you and don't care what you have to say anyway. What I got out of the lecture was that he was going to give me another chance because it's important that I support his/their park, even tho when I called asking why I was banned he said it was all Dennis and he just does what Dennis tells him to do and there's nothing he (Leroy) can do about it. If I were the type of person most people are now a days I would have let the other side of the fray go to jail and sued Wilborns for various things but I decided to let my money do the talking.

I might be WAY out of line here but I think Wilborns owes me an apology. So like I posted here before: I'll NEVER be back to Wilborns and I will always make it clear if people want to see the type of hill climbing that make the spectators pee their pants they will always be welcome to ride with us and I promise no one will stab them while they're there. If Leroy cares so much about us sticking together and supporting "his" hill climbs maybe he shouldn't reschedule event's on top of events like Wellsville, considering we've been planning this all winter?

Curt

I agree with you Curt. Hell I was told on Wednesday before the hill climb that all of the guys entering in the hill climb would get to ride for free on Friday. I told all the guys that came with me (around 35) and at least 15 entered the hill climb that we would get to ride for free on Friday. (That is what the Man (Leroy) said) But when we got there he charged all of us to ride on friday. The $25.00 to ride was not going to break me or any of the other guys, but do not tell people that and then change after people drives there. And any one that even asked about it was told "If you do not like it turn that S.O.B. around and leave”. I did not think that was a good way to run a place.

I was told they are doing this also to try and keep the Ky buggys from comming. So it would give others a chance to win. I do not know but it might just back fire on them. 8)

Allrighty then, how do you get more folks to enter. I want to go to Wellsville too ,,real bad but how many folks would be left down here that can't afford it and not have an event to attend. Heck is it just something to fuss about making 2 classes or is it a way to promote more interest? HOw about best time overall gets a free years pass to Wilborns? Just throwing it out there, haven't talked to Leroy,,excuse me ,,Dennis. I love this sport and want to ride and climb as much as my ol buggy will allow. It aint small buggy againgst CD . I rode with a VW powered CD and my suby has babychains. I know of some small buggys with V6 . But if everyone would rather go to Wellsville , count me in. Even you Rock and Cheez. 8)
