I have a friend that lost a pinion bearing and trashed his pinion gear. He called and left a message at Weddle but until then does anyone know what a new Ring and pinion costs? It is the acorn nut trans.

The acorn nut style is VERY weak, imo, due to the bearing setup. I would at least switch it over to the later style. 3-rib R&P's in general are weak as well, but I have seen some of them last for a long time.

I will sell you the whole transmission for 200 dollars. I have one of those and I will never use it. I can bring it to the party in 3 weeks.

Eric:
What all does it take to convert it to the later style?

Roy:
Ill give him a call. He may be interested in that. I won't have my buggy ready but was looking for a reason to come down to the party since i bought raffle tickets. This just might be a good excuse.

He is only running a 1641 with cut Mickey T baja claws so I don't think he will have to many problems out of this trans even though it is the weaker one.

A late style case (3, 5 or even 6-rib will work-6 rib needs reverse idler shaft changed), the late style pinion bearing, nut and washer. You will also need the threaded bearing retainers (that hold the diff), locks, and philips headed screws. I think that is all....

He just wants to fix it and get it back together then look for something better.

Where should he order the parts? Is Weddle's number 805-562-8600? He said they only sell used? Also they did not have the pinion bearing.

Thanks for the help guys.

Nope not plumber chris. I havn't seen him since last year. Krist talks to him all the time I think, you might see if he can get ahold of him. This is that friend of mine C.J. that has the fifth wheel in my section with the red buggy.

Yea I have called Chris twice a week for the past 6months and he doesn’t return my call. I talk to Krist all the time and he has told Chris several times to get in touch with me and he still hasn’t. He was going through a divorce so I understood why he didn’t call the first couple months but 6 months to just return my call and let me know what was going on is a little excessive. If you see him before I do let him know I am STILL waiting for my parts.
