what is the difference between tubing and regular pipe? i install fire sprinklers for a living and i have used what we call thin wall pipe (1/8 wall) for my tree bars and front bumper. what would you guys think as far as structural use like over head bars and such? i dont mind buying tubing just curious if it would work as far as safety?

Pipe has more lead content than tubing. Because of the lead content --it will bend and cut easier making it unsafe for roll protection. If it was ok to use -- factory built buggies ,would be made with pipe!

another difference is pipe is measured I.D. and tubing is measured O.D.

A guy that used to ride with us a long time ago welded some galvanized pipe in his buggy for braces.....almost every hill he climbed one of the braces would fall off....it was hi

Some tubings have no weld seams in the inside of the tube as pipe does.
