Well for the last month I have had my buggy at the front door covered by a tarp and haven't had much time to work on it like I had planned when I brought it over to the house. Well after sitting for that long the push rod tubes middle seals started leaking and I have a puddle about 2 feet wide and 4 feet long where the oil has jelled with the water and dirt. SO I washed the concrete today hoping to get the stain off the concrete. Is there any options for push rod tubes that don't leak, well don't leak as much? There has to be 2 qts of oil wasted from the oil change I just did before I parked it.

Properly installed stock tubes are oil dry's worst enemy..........

I've had good luck with the stainless tubes and silicone seals. Think the tubes are about $3 a piece. I'm sure stock tubes work just as good.

Yes I have those shitsy spring loaded but with the new silicon pieces. Seems that after they get hot they crack and fall apart. It really pisses me off when this thing leaks like this. There has to be a better way of doing it surely.

I have thought about just putting RTV all over the damn things, then take a hammer and beat the damn thing into submission. BUT my brain started working and I realized that would cost me more money.

That is right Firebuggy, it was built right and does not leak. Get you a set of the Autocraft push tubes and it will fix your problems.

The Empi bare aluminum spring loaded tubes are the ones I have been running in my race motor and they don't leak a drop.Helluva lot cheaper than autocraft and they have more room inside also.I always hated two piece tubes but with the Autocraft heads I run you have to use them.I was impressed.Will run somewhere around $60-70 bucks and your done.Other than that i would run stock tubes but you have to remove the heads for that.

Jaycee and Scat, both sell aluminum spring loaded tubes that are great quality and do not leak if installed correctly. You won't have to pull the heads to install them either.

i run the blue scat tubes, theyre plastic, but they work pretty good.

if you dumped 2 qts of oil threw your pushrod tubes i would have to say you had way to much oil in that engine. if you would have pulled your valve covers of to adj. your lifters it would have dumped out any way. when you refill it check your oil level so you dont over fill it again.

They way it was parked it was at an angle and everything flowed to the low spot. I only put 4 qts in after the oil change. Shouldn't be overfilled that much if any don't you think? I have always thought that 4 to 5 qts was the max depends in if it was after an oil change. 5 being if you have an external oil filter.

wild kid smell that oil and see if it smells like gas i had a bud that his floats on his carbs was jacked up and mixed in with his oil. ran out looked like a lot of oil. just a guess up u get it fixed.

I wouldn't think a VW engine would hold 4-5 quarts without leaking, I run 3 quarts in mine. Sounds like too much oil in there too me.

Not true buggyman. maybe if it was bone stock no modifcations. if it has xtra oil lines oil cooler, oil filter it will hold more. my motor holds 4 1/2 quarts and dont leek a drop.

I have had that happen to me several years ago. I will check that out in the morning and see if that might be the case. Thanks for reminding me. , the last time I lost almost half a tank of gas that was a 50/50 mix. Can't afford to loose that much money

Pipedope is right Buggyman....mine is the same here.....4.5qts of oil and never leaked a drop, do you run a remote oil filter? If you do....the filter alone will hold 1qt of oil whether you run or sit....and it takes another .5 to .75qt of oil to keep the lines full while runnin

Yeah, I know but I do not run any external oil coolers, I hate them. I run a stock cooler and oil pump filter and mine holds 3 quarts. I forgot to ask if he was running an external oil cooler.

Oops....same here....we are running stock bus coolers also....we hate the external oil coolers too.....but running remote oil filters.
