my wiring harnesses has a few fiber optic cables cut ( you cant splice them)
so i need a new one

my motor came from a 96 Subaru legacy

any help would be grate

You need to find a a subi tech or bmw tech if the fiber optic cables are the same sizes. These cables can be spliced. I have had to splice these at work (bmw tech) myself. Making cables isn't really that hard. If you have the special crimpers for fiberoptic cable ends, some ends, and some cable you should be able to make them yourself. If you can crimp wiring you can do this. What do you need connected for your engine that is fiberoptic?

oh ok i was told it couldnt be fixed

but its the knock sensor that is fiber optic.. but ill load it up and go to the subie dealership and ask a mechanic to take a look at it

I just went and double checked my 98 EJ25 series 1 Forester engine and its a regular electrical connection. Are you sure yours is fiber optic? It may be a shielded cable so electrical interference doesn't mess with the signal to the dme.

There are no fiber optic wire in the Subaru wiring harness. Are you talking about shielded cable? A braided cover over wire? Just splice it the same as you would regular wire. Just keep as much of the internal wire covered as possible.
Also know the cam, crank, knock and MAF sensors are all shielded.

The knock sensor is a very small gauge wire, I know mine broke to.
Strip, solder and shrink tube.
