Dean,

The timing could not be any more perfect than now. I am in the planning stage for my buggy. This thread can be very important in the planning stage for me.

Is it possible to have more pictures? Close up pictures would be great.

Good luck with the build. Looking good!!
Al

Hey Dean , now that you got chain drive, now you can put that 501 in your buggy!

I am not going to remove the torsion. The chaindrive is attached to it. If this works out for me I would like to build a new buggy without a torsion. Just to get rid of weight.

I'm pretty curious as to how it does with the new chaindrive as well. Was it worth the effort for the improvement?

I always wondered if it would act like a mid-engine buggy and not get the weight transfer it needed to climb well. It seems like that is one of the big keys to a good climbing small type buggy. If you don't get that weight where it needs to be they will spin like they are on ice.

Dean, you coming to Lewis county for the turkey run on the day after Thanksgiving?

Clayton and Lewis' new buggies are both mid-engine and climb incredibly good.

With chaindrive you can have a lot more HP and more traction with larger tires without braking the drive train and with more HP and traction you need the CG moved forward.

Curt

I understand the idea behind yours ( a very good one it is too! My compliments to the chef. :) ) but I really wonder how it does with the components you can use (VW mainly) in a small rail like Deans.

I think hes on to something the places I ride are to narrow for a conventional CD so Deans design should work great here. Plus its cool to see someone mesh two proven designs to make a great machine it shows the flexibilty of all buggy platforms.
