I'm hoping to graduate with my master's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2 or so more years at the University of Louisville Speed School of Engineering.

After that I'll be looking for work! :?

Trying to decide if I want to go after my Masters in Sociology and Rehabilitation Counseling. Seems that the jobs are available now because of the economy so I might as well get paid to go to school some more.

my dad works for csx with several other fam members. i rode with him once and i felt trapped. i'm a mechanic/auto tech so i can walk away from my job anytime i'm fustrated. didn't see an escape goat walking around on that train. check this out for your kids. my dad and i are members of this club. we're planning on going up there to the next meet. if you think you can drive a "big train" you can try driving my "little one." http://www.midsouthlivesteamers.org/

There's a CSX yard 10 min. from my house, NewCastle, Pa. I was gonna go CSX when Norfolk southern took over, but CSX said they were not going to dove tail the rosters, but they did. I would be a old head now if I went to CSX back then.

when my dad and uncle hired out it was seaboard coastline or seaboard airline. i'd have to talk to him about it. i know it was right around the viatnam war. my uncle hired out, work like 6 months then got drafted. then dad hired out somewhere in that time frame. i think he's been on the r.r. for like 28 - 30 years. heh he's counting down retirement days now.. said something like 47 months and so many days. i don't think he'll retire though. he loves it too much.

I am a service technician. I service non-contact inkjet printers and controllers......basically if you look on the bottom of your beer can, I service the equipment that prints that code. This job took me to Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, and home to TN all this week. In December it took me to Canada, Puerto Rico, and about 6 diff states in the US......I could do without the travel.

I sell auto parts. I have been doing it for the past 3 years. I take care of the commercial accounts. This lets me work a straight day shift, and be home on the weekends. I ran my on atv shop for the 3 years prior to that. I had worked in a factory for 9 years, but the odd shifts kept me away from my family, and there is nothing more important than your kids. We are happier now, but broker. lol

I broker truck loads and for the the most part, it's fine, but then every once in a while you get the really stupid drivers like this who have no concept of what a load lock is.........
