Every engine combination needs something different to work well. There is no perfect choice. You have to decide "how you want it to perform" and choose the heads and camshaft based on your wants. I get my Crower stuff direct. Call them. I highly recommend the 61004 camshaft and it works even better with 1.25 rocker arms. If you have stock size exhaust valves this cam is your best choice.

I agree with Roy on getting another Crower Cam. Although Crower lists all of thier cams being compatable with 1.1/1.25/1.4 ratio rocker arms, I would use a 1.25. I feel a 61004 is better than an Engle 110. The VZ Cams are good, but have very sharp ramps to the lobes. If you are using a Mag. Case, it will wear your lifter bores out a lot quicker. You used to be able to get Crower Cams for around $75, but a couple of years ago they drastically raised thier prices. Jim's Custom VW's in Columbiana Ohio has Crower 61004's in stock, but now they're up to around $115 I think. IMO the extra $20-$40 you may have to pay for a Crower over most others is well worth it. I know many people that have run Crower Cams that like them, and they'll still buy them if they're $200. I'll be using a Crower 61005 in my new 2332. Give Jim's a call Monday at 1-800-621-3503 if you're interested in getting another Crower.

the guys i ride with use 100's in 1835's and 110's or c-35's in 1914's. but evey thing inside is stock crank rods and such so we like to keep the rpm's down. works great.
