I was wondering everyones thoughts on best tranny fluid to run..

i had a car tranny i ran lucas trans oil 90w i think its been a while since i bought it the guys told me it was a heaveir oil and would be good for what i do

weddle told me not to run a synthetic oil in a vw transaxle. they said it doesn't let the syncronizers "wear in". but i guess if you are not running anything new, or as long as its not new to your trans, it wouldn't matter as much.

Weddle told me the opposite. They recommended synthetic for gearboxes using their parts.

I would call your builder and see what he recommends you run in the transaxle that HE built for YOU.

All I know is that you run your new tranny with regular gear oil to let it break in, then change it to synthetic oil if you want to run the stuff....My 2 cents. I just run regular gear oil, works fine for me.

Mine is all weddle aswell. I think i will start with regular gear oil then switch to synthetic when it needs a change.

Put " Slick 50 straight shift transmission additive" in mine. It made a noticeable improvement in shifting.
