With the correct mounting position, you could easily use them on the front. Creative mounting position or a custom made trailing arm.

I agree that you could mount the lower shock mount farther up the trailing arm or mount the top of the shock lower on the beam etc. I have a set of new Tweeds arms and a new 6 over beam w/10" towers and chose not to modify them to use the 8" coil overs that came with the Buggy. So I decided to sell them with the old front end and go with 10" shocks instead..

I may go with FOX 2.0 Air shocks however money permitting Im leaning more towards FOA coil overs.

You'll need to be very careful when moving the shock mounts with coil-over or any suspension shock. To far in towards the main pivot and your spring rate goes way up and there are interference issues and the shock angle to the arm will be way off at full bounce. Too far away from the main pivot your spring rate will soften up a bunch but you'll need more shock travel and there could be interference issues as well with your radius rod or tie rod link. Use a spring rate calculator to help adjust the posisition.
