Pinto, here is a link to a calculator that you put in all your engine info and it will give you a map that might help. Put in different AR rating numbers to get the best on a map.

although I have no experience on Pinto engines with turbos i do have vast experience with them on VW engines and if I was going to run one on a woods type engine I would try to keep it as close to 8.0 to 1 as possible.

Sorry, I forgot I had posted on this thread. I apologize! Aaron is right you need to drop the compression way down if you are going to run a turbo. What type of a set up as far as carbs are you looking to run. What I mean is are you going to run a blow through or EFI? Since you are running LP gas I would guess either would work with only minor differences. I have another web site that I will try to locate that has a ton of turbo info. Also you might want to send TurboBlue a PM and ask his help. He is very knowledgeable on turbo's.

Aaron is the man on VW turbo. He has one of the fastest drag bugs there is. Not to mention it looks good also.

We met at the London drag way. I was with Chuck Jones. (Chuck told me you are one of the best there is on turbos) That is one fast and good looking bug you have.

Thanks for the advice I got in touch with Racer Walsh today and theay said it would take a stock milled head with my valve train and springs to get where it needs to be along with a turbo cam and pistons.theay also said for the best results the compression needs to be around 8 to1.Sorry for the trouble but I have to much money tid up in compression to throw it away. But I will find another project to put the propane and turbo on. Theay also told me that there wasn't going to be any gain running propane over racing gas as far as HP for know I am going to run the Mikunis backed with pro nos foggers. THANKS FOR ALL THE IN PUT

It is a lot easier to bolt a holly base with mixer to a 2 barrel intake than to tune all 4 carbs. And I have a cage full of propane tanks 16 to be exact so propane is a lot cheaper for me to run but what about performance is 1 425 going to feed that little beast with out a turbo v/s 4 44mm carbs on racing gas. It is hard to put a price on performance.
