he was probably heading for the scrap yard, at least that what i would do with it...lol

well for being thrown on the road, the pallet and engine sure held up pretty good. If you happen to have a buggy that it will fit on, then throw it on there and see what it sounds like........Donnie

Well Bill, I guess the big secret is over. I don't care if you run 2 squirrels in a cage, as long as it runs so we can ride, that is all that matters to me.

i'm looking for a source on the wiring harness. sure i can go to the boneyard and pull a harness then send it out to enginewiring.com and have it "set up" for my application. but i'ed like to buy it ready to go, wiring and ecu, plug and play. outfront (formally outback) has it but it is a little pricy. anybody know of another source?
by the way, this motor is a jdm motor. (japanese domestic model)
Japan has very strict emission laws, more strict than California. After a vehicle accumulates 30K miles in Japan the government levies very high taxes on the car. These taxes are so high that it's cheaper for the owners to sell their car for parts and buy a new car. Since there is no market for used motors in Japan, they are exported around the world. for anyone intrested in suby power check out http://www.outfrontmotorsports.com/homepage.htm
there's some good info there

bill you should be able to do that easy. you just add the fittings you need and an air hose. when you need air turn the compressor on.

heres an idea taken from pirate.

Quote:
I went to the local hydraulic shop and got a reducer fitting that fit the out port on the compressor then goes down to the standard size used most commonly on air tools. From there I ran a T w/ a quick release female air fitting on one part of the T and a 120psi pop off valve on the other.

The intake has a fancy chrome top and is just a ltiile air filter fo a go cart intake I think. Really small, but keeps the crud out.

The hardest part was finding a fitting the size of the "out" port, then reduces down to the standard air fitting size for the T etc.

Next I went to Wal Mart and they have a Campbell/Hausfield package w/all the fittings and tire filler etc. for $15. Buy a cheap ass air hose and you got on board air for under $30 .

I simply turn the stock a/c switch on and the compressor puts out enough pressure to fill my 36" swampies in a matter of minutes.

thanks kyle, i'm wondering if the compressor is gonna fry because there's no oil in the system anymore.

bill you could always add a small "onboard" air tank that you could plumb into the system. fill it a bit with oil just like an aircompressor and when you turn it on it would circulate the oil through the pump.

a small air tank would work perfect plus give you a little reserve. you could even run air tools off of it.

Bill, there is fitting on the side. Pull it and drilland tap for grease fitting. Use a light grease every once in awile and it will last for awile any way. Thats what the air bag low riders do.

JDM motors don't have to deal with the regs that American motors though they are Honda and such do. The HP ratings is different if you investigate it more you will find the numbers. If its in Japanese let me know and I will do my best to translate it for you.
