what size motor do you have now? I guess it just depends on how much money you want to spend. You could build a 1915, it uses stock crank with 94mm pistons and cylinders.

You might as well and take the progessive and seel/trade for a single 44 weber or delloroto,or duals are even better!Build what you can afford,do you have anything to start with a block?heads?internal engine parts?depends on what you have to start with depends on how much a motor will cost.I wouldn`t build anything smaller than a 1914cc,but a 2500cc will cost you an arm and a leg and part of the other leg!And a three rib won`t take much more than a 1914 then you need 5 or 6 rib for anything bigger.Hope this helps.

Dude with the subaru, you probably have never rode around a real railbuggy with a built AC.I think you guys with the WC are not smart enough,or brave enough to handle a buggy with a more poweful and lighter motor. All you guys got to do is go to a Junk Yard and pick 1 out of the scrap pile.I have set back and listened to the Bull$%^& you WC guys have to say.The name of the game in any motor sport is the more power you have with less weight, the better off you are. Also who would want to take a chance of a radiator hose, getting ripped off by a tree limb and spraying hot coolant all over you.To each his own,but stop saying theyare better and faster.I know some boys with Ac motors that will put it all over any WC motor,i'd put my own personal buggy on the line if any of you Subaru guys want to try it.I dont want nothing in return, the look on your guys face will be satisfaction enough.D&K in Spring, come on down and back ya'lls mouths and there is no need to talk anymore, just show up....

I hate to have butchered this post, but why does some people have to think they have something better than the other. We should just be grateful we have places to ride.I have seen a lot of places shut down because of our buggys. Its not just the WC guys, its the AC guys as well.Dudes save the trash talk for the woods,at least you can have a chance to back it up out there.I apoligize for hijacking this post,Peace out.

Damn!, nothing but tensions. Guess will have to wait and see who's gonna prove who's right or wrong about A/C's and W/C's, in my opinion, I like Vw air-cooled motors, there is nothing wrong with water-cooled engines either, it's just who likes to run whatever they desire! Can't we all just get along??? Just my 2-cents.

I'm just tired of everyone that has a Subaru saying that they are faster and better.I dont give a damn if you run a 1200 HP Hemi.Climbing hills takes driving skills and Balls.I have never just came out and said my AC v-dub motor is better than a WC motor, never.I guess there is always going to be somebody out there that thinks they are better than the next,no point intended. So good luck with your motor and hope you enjoy riding no matter what you run.

I agree with you, I have a hearing aid and all I have to do is turn it off if I hear someone telling me their buggy is better than mine so I don't have to hear it! LOL

i agree with Buck it is 90% driving skills and balls to climb.. i may jus be getting into buggy's but i have raced motorcros all my life and have delt with the same issue of oh ur bikes better than mine and swapped right there and tore them up still....... if you think ur buggy's so much beeter than someone elses i think yall should swap for the day and really see

and as for wher the rest of the 10% is it goes to having a buggy... you have to have somthing to climb with

but as to if you want the best power to waight ratio heres what you need to find an adapter plate to

Image

and this is alls i have to say and yall should STOP hijacking this mans thread!!! and move to trash talk!

p.s all ways rember "no matter what there is always someone bigger and badder out ther"
