NASCAR was awsome until it turned into Hendricks Motor Sport Sundays. If you have never been to Bristol you need to make the trip Ive been to 3 night races a we camp for 4 or 5 days and it is worth the trip every time even if Stewart doesnt win.

No time to watch a 4 hour Nascar race here.
I DVR it and then watch it at 15x forward speed till I see smoke (crash) or the lap counter is down to about 10 to go then finish watching at normal speed.
I can get all I need to see done in about 15 minutes.........

I prefer NHRA 8000 horsepower, 330 mph in 4 seconds, body shaking, ear poping, ground pounding bad assness

Yup, straightline is where it's at.........

Here are some interesting facts about top fuel.

One Top Fuel dragster 500 cubic inch Hemi engine makes
more horsepower than the first 4 rows of stock cars at
the Daytona 500. Under full throttle, a dragster
engine consumes 1-1/2 gallons of nitro methane per
second; a fully loaded 747 c

I agree there is nothing like Top Fuel. Our local drag strip is Norwalk. Last year Summit Racing took over. It became NHRA and the Spring Nationals are held here. Also within twenty minutes of my house are Attica Speedway and Fremont speedway. Two great dirt tracks well known for sprint car and late model racing. Garden tractor racing was started 40 minutes from here in Marion Ohio. And within an hour there is Mid Ohio road course. Shadetree and I will be headed to Laughlin Nevada soon to watch the Laughlin Desert challenge. I just love racing.
But the first race I saw was at the Pennsboro Speedway in Pennsboro WV. and I have been hooked on ovals ever since. There is just something about guys being able to drive that close together even touching at 200 mph. But I will watch almost any type of motorsports.
Who knows maybe it won't be long before Lucas Oil on the edge does a show on woodsbuggies hillclimbing.

I know Mike Lucas of Lucas Oil fame and I am a dealer for their products.
Mike is the son of the founder, Forrest Lucas and runs the Lucas bottling plant in Corydon IN.
His son Kyle raced single seat buggies in the old CORR series when it was out here in the Midwest.
Kyle now runs in the WSORR series which is sponsored by Lucas Oil.

I like NASCAR but do not watch it on TV much. I will have it on while I am working in the garage for background noise. I will stop working if there is a crash. I might even actually watch the last 10 laps. I do go to Bristol every summer. Usually camp at Farmer Bob's. It's much better actually being there.
Since Mark Martin semi-retired, I do not have a favorite driver anymore. I am kinda leaning toward Greg Biffle. He is an avid "buggy guy" and has a really nice sand rail. Him and Robby Gordon get together and ride on occasion.

I am more into Drag Racing than anything. As some of you already know, I am on a pit crew for am IHRA team. Do not do it as much as we used to but we still run 4 or 5 races a year.

I work on Nextel Cup cars for a living and would still rather TiVo the race and watch it after I go buggy riding. That way I still know what happened.

We used to go every year to the 500 and 400 in Daytona. But the prices have just gotten crazy. Heres an example from last years Gatoraid duel.

And that place was probably a 30 minute walk to the gates

Roush. My bad, Roush-Fenway. They aren't hiring now, but you'll never get a job here if you are there.

The best time to get a job is toward the end of the season. That's when everybody hires for winter re-builds. At least that's our busy time of year. It would be pretty hard to get a job this time of year. For the most part, all the teams are set. But if I hear of anyone hiring, I'll let you know.
