Thought about it myself, decided to stick with buggies. More Fun & less mechanical parts to break.

If your going to use the stock frame it shouldnt be that hard or expensive. Sure would be alot of fun though.....

Will you beat on it?
I am very hard on my buggy and it still brings me home.
Once in a while my buggy gets really beat up and I have to be towed up and over the mountain through some narrow trails.
A buggy is so light that it can be towed by a quad...when that happens.
A buggy can drive on three wheels or flats...when that happens.
A buggy can drive with really messed up steering ...when that happens.
A buggy gets you there and back many times a day and in relative safety.
Here is another reason not to own a truck:

I really depends on your interest in the offroading sport. What you have the knowledge to do and build and most of all repair on the trail. There are lots of follks that take truggies, crawlers and everything else out on the trails to ride, so you won't be an odd ball for doing it. The way I see it is as long as your riding having a good time and sharing the off roading experience with others have at it and be safe.

Get your tags and such before you start the build. Then it is just a modification.
