Larry is now a member of the roll-over club it looked very nasty, but he was all-right and the buggy was Good also. The buggy looked very good Larry! That light frame will take some getting used to.

My wife was the picture taker for the day and she was having a BLOND moment. So no picture were taken of the roll over.

Well congratulations to Larry! Isn't it awesome! After your ok you feel like doing a backflip. The adrenalin rush is almost as big as climbing that nasty hill that to took hours of deliberation to finally climb and when you make it, WOW the adrenalin just pours out your ears.

Purplerail, when you leave caps on, it means you are yelling. I am deaf in one ear but I can still hear you. Just a friendly mention.

Wish there was pictures to see. Most of all glad he wasn't hurt. Welcome to the roll over club, nothing like new members.

Well thanks for the welcoming party into the club!! I must admit I'm glad to finally get it over with!! Now that I've done it , it aint bad at all!  8)
And ,yes, DVS1 the rush is awesome!! I was ready to hit another one after Bruce and Charlie and a couple of others threw me back over! (Thanks again guys!) It makes you feel like Superman, but also told me to respect this new chassis all at the same time.
Two things flashed thru my mind as I was rollin over (Its like a car crash, slow-motion in your mind):
1) My 12 year old son was gonna watch my head get cracked open, and
2) I was gonna ruin my brand new frame.
But neither happenend, had my belts cinched down and I rolled up and tucked in as I was going over. Buggy went straight over and the roof was the first and only thing that hit the ground! Barely, and I mean BARELY, tweaked the 16 gauge roof panel. Nothing else even moved!
COMPLETE credit to Steve at X-TREME RAIL for building a tuff but lightweight frame.

Bruce, you are definately right about getting used to the lightweight. It's like going from driving a '74 Caprice to a Lamborghini!!

On a sadder note, a young guy (25 or so) named Bobby from down around the London area, but riding somewhere else, flipped an earlier design of the same chassis Saturday also. I heard it was his first rail and he had a 2574cc (I think 96.5bore x 88 stroke) and a 2nd gear 6-rib on it. WAY TOO MUCH buggy for his second ride ever. He was on some great big nasty hill and end-overed twice and barreled about 8 times. I hear that his belts may not have been on and he is in VERY bad shape, he may not make it. EVERYONE please direct their thoughts and prayers towards this young man, he needs all the help he can get.

AND ,WEAR YOUR FREAKIN BELTS TIGHT ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw a couple of other guys climbing at D&K ,right there where I flipped, without their shoulders on. You did NOT look cool, you looked STUPID!!

I got a pretty good spot, I think. But no one got a picture of me on my lid, so I dont know if Dean will see it fit to give me one!! They flipped me back over so fast, I had to run to get out of the way so the buggy wouldnt land on me!! Wouldnt really blame him, no pic, but got PLENTY of witnesses though  !!

I belive you. Isn't it wild how slow it does seem? When I flipped at Wellsville once I swear I was watching the wheels impact the ground and was adding up the damage while it was rolling. Send me your address agin and I'll get you the sticker. Don't worry about pic's anymore. Now that you have rolled, every time you climb people will point cameras at you.
A few years ago I took off with only my lap belts on headed for the trailer. Dave passed me so I went after him. I slid sideways off the trail and into a tree. My head it the bars above my head and a knot the size of a golf ball came out of my forehead. It scared me pretty bad. I always strap in now.

Yeah, its pretty wild. I flipped a '74 Valiant when I was a kid, thinking it was a Formula 1 car, and it was the same way, slo-motion.

Glad you learned your lesson about those shoulder straps before you got hurt too bad. A good friend of mine was killed at Livingston (aka Cromer's Ridge, aka exit 49) because he wasnt wearing his belts and he was thrown from the buggy and it landed on him. I didnt even have a buggy yet and was coming down there to ride with him the next morning. Only knew him about 6 months. It was his 50th birthday when it happenend, too. A tragic loss we (the guys I ride with) will never forget.

With a nickname of Flipper since I was in JR high. Mine has stuck for sure and will never go away. I have flipped more times that I want to remember and with you guys talking about the slow motion feeling. I agree, during the rolls I can see every little bit and piece flying about in the air. I can see sky ground sky ground sky again. KYbuggy1 glad you weren't hurt and no real damage was done to the buggy.

Jason (Turtleman) ,you are THE man! He got a snap shot just at the instant I should've let off the pedal! Looks like I had it whipped if I would've blipped the loud pedal a little. Somebody said something about beer consumption and lead footed-ness on this forum once!

He emailed it to me today. I had no idea he took it! As usual, pictures never do the hill justice. Here it is:

If you look at your right rear wheel you can see the 6" stump. That is what cought me 3 times till they had to cut it for me, after it got lodged between my tire and tree bar. After it was cut I stoped trying that one. It does not look bad but there is a lip that is hard to get over. I have seen Darrell and Chrlie not make it several times on that one.

  MAN THAT IS A SWEET PIC!!!!!! It woulda been better if you could tell how slick, steep and rooted up that hill was! That was about two seconds before my dad (kybuggy1) did a backflip.
:D
LOL bruce if yall hadnt of cut that little tree down he probably would have hit the tree with the back of his buggy instead of going over. LOL

No problem welcome to the club. Did you look at the homepage to this site? I figured that pic deserved a place of honor for awhile.
