What exactly do you already have? Do you already have a running motor your upgrading or are you building a completely different engine? Then maybe we can give you a few different opinions to better help if we knew a little more. Chad

You will gain more power from the bigger bore than going to a 76 stroke crank with those tiny pistons. A 1915 is the best combo dollar for dollar.

Right now i have a 1641. it was built 4 or 5 years ago, It is a full flowed with 110 cam, 69 counterweighted crank, stock rods, stock heads. The pistons are shot. running a idf 40. My dad has a fresh 1915. and im not impressed. Im trying to look long term, My budget is always $0 lol so i can save close to 200 when building and 100 bucks when it comes time to rebuild. In theory a stroker should be real snappy, and thats exactly what i am looking for. i like to run my rail at about 2000 and snap to 4000 when i need it. And nobody i have seen has a stroker with stock pistons. Is there a worry that it wont be reliable?

Are you wonting to us the the piston? And are they cast or forged ? I would not us if they are cast . You can use up to a 78 crank and "A" pistons and shim the barreles. This is alot of work for a 1855! I would use 94mm piston. It will be about $300 more for parts and machine work . OR rebuild the 1641 cut the heads .100 for compression & port and make your 1641 RUN. OR Save your $$$$$ and go talk to some one like Drews and build a eng.

I would take your current 1641 apart and bore it for 94mm pistons, freshen everything up,set the compression at 9.0:1 with a nice tight deck and let it rip. I promise you it will make an ass out of the baby bore stroker you are thinkin about.

I was really lookin at keepin the 1641 together as far as the bottom end goes, its my first time building a motor and dont wanna screw up my best crank lol.

at 9.0:1 i can still run pump gas correct?

Does anyone on here trust LA Products machine work? i would like to have jim do it but he is a very far distance from me.

Dont have LA products do ANY work for you . Buy parts there sure, But besides that I wouldnt have them install a spark plug for me.

Just go to Passat's house and take a ride to pull a part then find a cobalt and pull a echotech engine for $200.00. Wiring harness and ecu $100.00 and an adaptor plate and flywheel and a few bolts some wire ties a little electrical tape then you can have a running motor for a little more than the machine work.

I know damn WC guys charming in. Just would like to see this thing built, enough philosophizing lets build something or save some Obama money and then build something.

I will just shut up now.
