We went to Stonehenge last weekend and my buggy got to where it would not start with the switch but it would pull off. Just fine. I got home and put a new battery and starter on and it made no difference at all still just a very slow turn of the starter like a dead batt. It doesent help to put jumper cables on. I have cleaned the ground to the car and batt with no change. What else could cause this. Any help will be appreciated.

If you have a manual transmission starter it could be the bushing in the transmission.

this most likely, if so i would a starter for an automatic tranny, they dont make any use of the bushing in the belhousing

or pony up for a high torque

another thing to check is how is everything grounded, battery directly to tranny or just battery to frame if so it wouldt hurt to add a ground jumper from the frame to tranny

Is this a new starter or just one you had laying around in the garage? Did you bench test it before putting it on? Might need to pull it off and check to see if its turning quicker when its not engaged to anything. If it is it might be the bushings, if not then you'll know its the starter.
