I need to buy a carb for my buggy. my budget doesnt allow for much. if im going to spend 150 on a stock 34 I figured I could throw in alittle more and upgrade. my choices are a 32/36 weber, a single weber 40 or 44, or a dual solex 34 setup. its going to be a stock 1600 for awhile and probably never more than a mild 1915 (ill save the big hammer build for a two seater). whats going to be my best choice here?

as far as I know a 31 will not fit on a 34 intake. plus im not to hip on buying used carbs ive been burned to many times. id rather have peace of mind of a new carb. how do you like the single 40?

I would go with a single 40 weber or 44 it will work on the 1600 and the 1915 just fine.

i made up my mind im going with a single idf. just a couple more questions. being the same price should i go ahead and get a 44 or will these really kill my motor while still a 1600? why should i pay almot 200 more for a weber vs an empi? last but not least anyone know where i can get one of these kits around columbus?

Ok i ended up just buying a solex 34 just to get this thing going. I found a brand new one right down the street from my work for $145. anyone in or around columbus should look up german autowerks, great guy reasonable prices, they have enough machinery to line bore and rebuild heads. just went in to get a carburetor and ended up shootin the shit with the guy for about an hour.
