I never saw a big deal with sawyer selling his arms on here. have never seen any where on here where it says you have to pay to sale stuff on this site. Look at all the sponsors on the site now. I have never seen or heard one word from them about people selling on here. I have all kinds of things that I could sale but hold on to it for spare parts. I have a jig to build long front arms to and a freind even advertised it on here a while back. There was never anything said about that. I just dont see a problem. Mike does do damn good lookin work but theres always someone out there that can do the same thing maybe not as good or pretty but cheaper.
Hell I do heating and air work and there are hundreds of people out there that do the same as me. If I got mad every time someone did a job for less than I bid I would stay mad. Everyone dont have the overhead to worry with so a little profit is better than no profit. Thats the way it is and always will be.JMO

he didnt commit suicide , hes got a phone if someone needs parts , i'm pretty damn sure hes not gonna close shop & sell his buggy cause of bullshit on the site , he just didnt appreciate some things that were going on here so he made his on decision not to be part of it for now , hes to intelligant to give up a passion , so its not that sad , if you call him and ask a question or try to buy a part and he says go to hell , then i would worry about being sad , but not til then !!!

I would agree. He was a HUGE part of Woodsbuggy and it sucks that he has decided to leave. I guess that is the danger when your hobby becomes your business. Unfortunately, he was not happy that Woodsbuggy did not have a policy prohibiting people from selling fabricated parts in the forum that competed with a woodsbuggy sponsor.

Woodsbuggy currently reserves the Rotating Banner on the top of the page and the Advertisement Graphics on the Home page for sponsors. There are no costs to sell fabricated parts in the forum. Sponsors only need to pay for Banners.

No what he said was it's one thing to sell some stuff that you have lying around the shop when you get better stuff but if you gonna build new stuff then become a sponsor. That was all he was saying.

Ok Rock pretty much summed it up however I will say this. If one man that manufactures new parts to sell here is required to purchase the banner then why is another man that is also manufacturing new parts exempt . Whats fair is fair. Is that clear enough?

Mike wasnt told he HAD to be a sponcer to sell. But he didnt feel right advertising here without being a sponcer when he sells the same things as some of the existing sponcers. His rule was his own moral ground, doesnt mean he was wrong. But sawyer wasnt wrong either, it was just an ugly gray area with no rule to govern it. But as a paid sponcer he felt only sponcers should be allowed to sell their manufactured goods, and to a point he was right. Sawyer donated to the cookout 2 years ago and then had, ummmm, personal issues last year and it wasnt really an option. Maybe with the promissed arms for this years wellsville event he should have been made a sponcer with the promiss to donate one pair each year. Would have evened the playing feild a bit. Perhaps a simple rule of a set amount per 6months or a year or a set retail donation per year then you can sell new items on here, with or without a banner.
