I will see if I can find some pictures of the chaindrive set up. The one to ask is Curt. His dad is the one that came up with it and developed it. I don't care if you like it or not but you have to be amazed at the engineering that went into it at least.

look in "The Creek" thread. there is a lot of pictures in there of the chain drives. rear sprokets and such etc...

The chain drives are awesome! Why propane because flooding? And how dose the fuel system if propane work? With a turbo?

If you ever ride in a chaindrive you dont want toget back in a vw setup not to mention the way they perform. Propane is also the simplest,cheapest most reliable fuel for woods buggies

Here we go again :evil:. Thats a very biased matter of opinion. Both are cool, and one is better than the other in certain situations, but neither is better everywhere.

Why do you say that I did not say anything against little buggys some of them amaze me but c/d do ride like a dream true, they do perform well true, i am not putting down little buggys at all hell i have 2 of them but the c/d are very impressive to me

When Pipedope got home, he gave me pics and videos of the chaindrives, and I looked at them and watched them, they are awesome!! Never seen anything like it before. It kinda makes me want to C/D my next buggy!.

that's wright if you want a buggy to sling around and cut do-nuts go with a what we call a ditch witch buggy. but if you want a good allaround buggy. hill climbing, trail riding, driving over what evers in your way. go with a chain drive .Iv'e had both until you have had both you just don't know

Very well said, Larry. I am sure it takes a lot of money to build a CD at least like a lot of them. I dunno 20k? 30, 40k? A lot of people cannot afford that or choose not to. How much maintenance? I have always stated it all depends on you want to do. You can take a log skidder, put some bolts in the tires and climb some very steep hills as well. There is a point to everything. A helicopter will out climb anything. I have seen motorcycles climb hills (most of them don''t make it) that NO buggy can climb. The hills are far too long and steep. They have people hanging from ropes to catch them when they don''t make it to keep the bikes from free falling and landing on top of them. Some people like to trail ride as well as hill climb and that is different as well. Everything has it''s limits, everything has it''s place, and no one machine will do it all. A lot of people take offense to people that out climb someone... when I say \"who cares\"? It is JUST a hill. Trying to compete with a CD with the huge tires in ditches or big rocks with my buggy would be pointless. It is a different CLASS. It doesn''t bother me at all. And if someone wants to hit a hill, fine, if not fine also. It will probably get to a point at some time that people are going to get hurt or killed. That is not worth it in any buggy

First off I never said one was better than the other you did that ,what i said is that after you RIDE in one with all the suspension they have when you ride in rocks,rutted up hills with roots you dont want to get back in a rougher riding buggy nothing about one being the only buggy to have like i said i have a convential,regular,little what ever you want to call it makes no 2 shits to me buggy and love riding it,but it dont ride (comfort)like a c/d man I didnt know it would be such a touchy subject

went for a couple hour trail ride with mr. burns last friday and was amazed how smooth the ride was, literally riding on air!!

Larry and Eric you both are exactly right. But some on this site will argue with you that their kind of buggys is the only ones that can even get off the road. But how ever if you want to see some real hill climbing that is truly extreme come to D&K and see some of the best skilled hill climbers go at it for fun. We cut a new hill about 3 weeks ago that is more extreme than any High wall that has been put on this site. If you think you have the big balls then come hit it. So far there has only been 4 buggys climbed it. And I will give any CD a bet on whether they will climb it or not. (come and you might be the first) So come on we will have a good time. And I am not putting anybody

My single seater (2x3's, stock bars) rides just as good, if not better, than my two seater does, and it has air ride on it. I'll be glad to give you a hand re-setting that torsion, if you'd like. :wink:
