congrats on your purchase of a berrian. i have the 4105 four seater, i'm not sure what type of riding your going to be doing but if its any type of terrain like wellsville i would recommend x-bracing behind the driver/passenger seat if possible.

Understanding your devotion to helmets at all times I am curious to what the wife and kids will be wearing when tooling around in the new rig? Keep up the good fabricating and pictures.

Roger that on the helmets but it is not my intent to hijack the thread. Keep the pictures coming on the build. A 4 seater chassis has the advantage of a more stable wheel base but poses different challenges when bracing for rollovers.( hopefully the fam never experiences one). The knockdown kits are great starting points but don't include the necessary bracing for off road use so don't be shy when stiffing up the chassis.

berrien sells a complete bracing kit for $70 I think im just gonna get that save me the headache of cutting and notching and starting over because i made it too short  Id have almost that in steel anyways.
whats the best way to cut aluminum sheet for floorpans? I tried a sawzall but it was too loud i think i got permenant hearing damage now.

I am always taking my kids with me as well and we always wear our helmets.. I also added an intercom system between our helmets so that I can easily talk with the kids while we are riding.

I have rolled my 4 seat Berrien Sandfox and eveything was fine. But after I saw this picture.. I added some braceing...

Here is my buggy now. I am still not finished bracing it.. I am in the process of adding some more cross supports.

Added a middle support and an extra triangle in the back..

I also doubled up the top tube.

jig saws/ sawzalls are slow. I grabbed my 10" power saw with a carbide tipped blade and cut at least 30 feet and never lost a tooth. Lazer straight and quick. a word of caution- the chips are hot so long sleeves and goggles are a must. Also used the same saw with a cut off blade for expanded metal. Us po folks can't afford plasma cutters

Skillsaws work great with the right saw blade, use lard as well. After you mark your cut line "paint" the line with lard before you cut 8)

I likes my plasma torch, with a straight edge it looks like it was cut with scissors.

I also use a skill saw.I set the blade to cut just down to almost through then break it off and clean up the edge with a grinder.Chad

ill trade those awesome 8.00 - 15 tires for some v treads  those are the tires off the bug.
dont make fun of me when you see me stuck in woods with those but until I can afford wheels, tires, axles, and swing arms all together im runnin em  im looking for some wider steel rims and some decent 30"s to run till I can afford all the other crap.

Nice build, does the gas tank on this buggy go over the trans nose cone?? If so I think it will be hard to fill with the seats leaning that far back... I had the Appletree version of this frame and the fiberglass seats were in the way of a gas tank.. It was hard to fill with a gas can.. I could fill it at the station with no problems... Thanks Dave T

the fuel tank is going to go on the crossbar above the bellhousing im going to to lean the mounts back a bit so the outlet will clear the crossbar its an endfill tank so it shouldnt be a problem.
