Under no circumstances do you want to install a manually operated valve in your oil line. Forget to open one time and your motor is toast!

. On the flip side you can buy an oil check valve from Jegs that should work. I installed one on mine because my 3 stage oil pump is mounted on top of the engine and after sitting all the oil would drain out of the pump. Or just when you start it let it idel untill the oil is pumped out of the Sump. Keep in mind that you no longer use the Motors dip stick to check the oil. Check the level in thew tank right after you shut the engine down.
Yea your probably right, after all I do forget quite abit.I'll check out my jegs catalog though thanks odyknuck I hope to get to wellsville a few times this year and ride with you.Chad

Ody is right !!!! Its ESPECIALLY hard to remember to open that valve on them groggy hangover mornings when everyone else is rolling out to the trails and you wanna hurry up and jump in the buggy to catch up before they are out of sight! Ask me how I know that

. Just let her idle for a few minutes when you start it up after sitting for a while. You already know thats what you ought to do anyways when you run these old , out dated, old school junky low tech A/C motors that we love so much.
How high is your tank mounted? higher than your engine? Move the tank , if it is. My 2 seater was like that and it would dump so much oil in the motor it would run out the dipstick tube when you pulled it out, after sitting too long. And smoke like hell where the cylinders would fill with oil, even with brand new p&c's. Doubt it wouldve even fired up had it not been for MSD and good starter.

My ss will still overfill the engine a little bit with the tank on the floor, but not bad enough to hurt anything.
