My wife's buggy has a 1915 with about the same specs. When I bought that buggy it had a single Dellorto DLRA 40 setup that ran like crap. There was a huge flat spot starting at about 2500 RPM that I could not get corrected no matter what I did. I changed jets, bought the CB upgrade kit, tuned, cussed, and threw tools, nothing worked. I finally bought a pair of Weber (EMPI) 44's. Once I get them dialed in they work great. No flat spot, good powerband all they way to redline. She loves them. (Bill, if you're reading this, I got the problem we had a Windrock fixed - it was a bad top gasket leaking air).
I have always had Webers (EMPI) and the one thing I don't like about Dells in comparison is the idle jet location. If you have to clean a jet on the trail you must take the filter assembly off to get to it. This sucks because there is a good chance that dirt/mud/crap will get in the carb when you do this. With Webers, the screw to get to the jets is external so the filter stays on if a jet needs attention.
Good Luck!

That's why I use wheel grease top and bottom of filter.
My pinion broke because the maincase cracked right at the cv flange and let the ring gear deflect.
I got her fixed now [new case], and added a steel plate between the bellhousing and maincase to strengthen that area.
