Need some help guys, I've just finished rebuilding a 2110cc motor I bought of one of the guys off here. It runs, but its not brilliant and would like to check its settings.. trouble is I cannot find any settings for such a non stock motor..

I'd like to check:

Plug type
Plug gap
airbypass screw start point
mixture start point
idle timing
fuel pressure

Its got NGK 5's in there, short reach, gapped to 032"
The air bypass screws were wound fully in, I've backed them out 2 turns
Mixture screws also backed out 2 turns
It needs the idle stop screws wound in a lot to idle like that (60 idle jets)
idle timing (009 dis) is 10 degrees BTDC

Other details (041 heads, 40/35 valves, 1.1:1 rockers, Engle 120)

I realise any settings are just starting points, but I'd like to know if I'm miles out first..

Well, settings will probably be out a fair way now you've reworked the engine (and to be honest, they weren't brilliant to start with, I was just starting to sort them out for him when the bottom end let go) but it always used to run with a lot more advance at idle (950rpms) with us (on 98 octane fuel), although that was with a Megajolt rather than the dizzy - 14/15 degrees.

Run them air bypasses all the way in and leave 'em alone.

Doesn't bother me, I was in the middle of trying to get it set right so I know it wasn't perfect, but it never had any trouble idling!
