Think about it. There could be more people to get in the competitive circle at this price. And I did not need a Kennedy adapter, hi torque starter, stage 2 clutch and pressure plate, simple wiring harness, re-programmed computor, header, carbs, propane, chains and sprockets, high $ bus trans, 4 diff..... Get in your wife's car and haul a$$ down the street and stop. Now sit and think to yourself. If I could have all that dependability and power and mulitiply it thru a 3.27 :1 diff in a lite weight buggy............ .......... ........................ :D ............ 8) . Someone ,right now, has the opportunity to start building buggies this way and having a huge profit margin while still giving the customer an affordable competitive buggy.Or , let's continue to throw fecees at each other like at the primate zoo.

Turn your sound up on your speaker because that's how it really sounds.I feel for the people in the crowd sometimes. The book says peak hp(175 with parasites and cat.) is at 5800rpm but that does not always mean that that is the peak rpm.

Here's 1 to throw at everybody water or air.My trans was built by German technicians at the factory FOR 175 hp. Bus 3-6 ribs were made for 53hp-what? 80?85? And 25-43 years ago! I can walk thru a Pull a Part and get mine for $125.But ,I'll leave you alone. I have noticed silence out there.Yall must be in the looking at each other stage.Yall are not going to change , modify, build or buy something I have never done.Made a lot of mistakes and wasted alot of time and money, but gained a wealth of knowledge. Some people come running up like they are all that.Truth is they still got the rolled up magazine in thier back pocket.I'm just trying to tell "some" where the mines are in the mine field! In just a few more years I'll be retired and partying at a nude resort in Florida.

2 buddys and I try to keep out buggys similar b/c we always ride together so if one of use breaks something theres a good chance one of us will have what we need to fix it. If we dont have it then theres a ton of others usually out on the trials that will stop and help ya out.

You got some good ideas but if everyone started building buggys like yours we would have a tuff time if we break something a few hours from the truck. Just my opion but still you've got some ideas.

Picked up a motor and trans for $700 today already pulled. With 2 bus joints still attached to the trans. Ask yourself what you could buy for that.

Lol Marty, WEEL. DD I am game for trying it this winter in my daughters buggy. That is the plan at least Trans, diff and coupling will cost me less then a stock six rib but with more strength. Just cant bring myself to spend $2k or more on a tranny just to blow it up with a $200 engine. Done it to many times with stock six ribs already. And this is only my third season. But I completely understand why most wont. It has not been proven effective, yet.

Awesome! Hey .I have not broke a motor, but burnt 1 up when I overheated it with fan problems at 1st, trans, diff or joint. The vw diff that exploded last summer was because I did not weld it solid enough. So those are the only 2 times I had something break. That vw v6 has unreal rpm. What motor are you going to use?Do not mix a 4 cyl motor with a 6 cyl trans and vice versa. The bellhousing is clocked differently. My header is an elbow and a straight piece of pipe from AutoZone ($20).Weld a nut on it for your downstream O2.It sounds great. My Trailing arms are 48" long with air bags . They work great with no problems.Thunderbird bearing housings and disc brakes with factory 15x8 aluminum rims.Start a post when you start on it!

I am going to use a stock 2.2 ecotec and auto trans. With the close gears I think an auto would be better. Talked with the chain-rail guys about rolling over with an auto. They said to slap it in reverse if it starts going over and it will pull out of it. $200 for the engine, harness, ecu and trans with 40k miles and 6 year old tech. Another $100 for a ford 8.8 and stub axles. I have the airbags (4 for $100) and plan to use a stock AC, opps Air Conditioning pump for the air compresser. Power steering pump is cam driven like mine so no belt and pully assembly. She smacked a tree a couple weeks ago trying to follow to close in the dust so the front is tweeked. So now it will get an A-arm front end with Chevey truck 2wd front spindles, disk brakes come with it for the $30. I figure if you lean the A-arms back like my old RC cars had it should absorb the front bump impact just like our VW's do. My biggest concern is the mid engine weight transfer for traction on level ground. 35x16x15 cut Boggers should help some, and I can shift things like battery, Radiator and fuel cell behind the engine to help balence it out. I doubt it will be perfect right out of the box, but should be a good start. Should also be very stable on hills for a beginner.
