I am starting my buggy build and was thinking I know how to build it but how does it work. I am one who will ask if I dont know so I do make a fool of my self  . I was wondering how an Irs bug trans works. I am intrigued by how you have the engine on back and the shifter up front. how does it know you want reverse? All I know is you push the shifter down and put it in "1st". Any help is much appreciated!!
Thanks a bunch guys and gals,
Dieseltechy360

I would start with some reading...

http://www.1800vw.com/

http://blindchickenracing.com/

http://www.aircooled.net/

I am sure there are many more sites but here are few good ones..
