will spray paint work and stick good on the frame. and is there a certain brand or type that will work better

krylon is good it drys fast make sure you us clare coat mine turned out killer

If your just gonna to touch it up that would work, but if your gonna strip off all the old paint and then paint it, I would guess it would take 15-20 cans, and at $4 a can, that would be $80. I bought a gallon of AC orange at tractor supply, the paint, thinner, and everything was on 72 dollars and it turned out great! I shot it with a paint gun and couldn't be any happier with it. Actually, didn't have much of that gallon left when I was done, as you waist about 75% when you are painting 1.5 tubes.

Im new to the site but would like to say I used eengine enamal on mine but the key is to sand good.then use good sanable primer at autozone.Mine is goin on 2 years now.

I have found that in order for High temp engine paint to work it needs to be heat cured like an engine would do normally. I use a Heat lamp and or Heat guns to cure it. It holds up well when you do it otherwise it does not last.
