my side shift in nose cone is a 4.86. this one can be converted to nose shift if you would want to have it done. not really sure on what that would cost

Unless its a midshift (watercooled) trans, I wouldnt bother tryin to run a sideshift.

Whys that?
isnt the reverse gear just stronger on the midshift?
Gonna be using a stock for now 2.2 suby for power
suggestions would be appreciated.

I run a 6 rib nose shift in mine, I've broken everything in that stock tranny including the case.
I cured that by adding a 4 spider diff and $1500 of weedle gears and bearings, thrust plate etc...even then I jerked the pinion bearing into.
The only reason I would start with a nose shift 6 rib over the waterboxer side shift would be that weedle offers more after market gear ratios 1-4 than it does for the side shift.
Everthing in the waterboxer side shift in stock form is stronger.
