you didnt ask if I would ride with a rzr you asked if they should be eligible for botm on THIS site . Which is a totally different question I will off road with anybody with any machine whatsoever :!:
I ride with guys with rockcawlers , 4 wheelers ,sidexsides and dirt bikes but I dont think they should be on our botm any more than I need to be posting pics of my buggy on their site but that doesn't make us any less friends or riding buddies

And don't get me wrong, I didnt build my buggy, I bought it, then started modifyin to my hearts content. When I sell it is when it will be done. Just dropped about $2k in it on mods again this year, for no major changes, just safety and durability as always. Modify the hell outta that thing then ask again, would be a different story then a stocker. Better hurry though, Ody and Maddog will be changing theirs too.

Now I would consider Ody's ODy without hesitation. Now that is a little buggy, by our standards. Homemade design.

It is a Honda. Whats the difference for a polaris? A buggy is a buggy. If its a subaru, pont, vw, chevy, ford, polaris, honda, suzuki, or all of them together. Its still a buggy.

These sxs are going to be the death of the pipe buggy as we know it. Sorry, it hurts but true. These are the 21st century buggy, so im gonna submit it for botm and see what happens. Thanks for the responces. I wish I would have put my suby buggy up for botm. I really hope Andrew submits it soon! If you do I got a bunch of build pics for ya.

death of the pipe buggy....Dont see that happenin. Not everyone has $16,500 t buy one, But as said it was a question of wether or not they should be eligible for buggy of the month on this site. In our groups we have anything from a giant 4x4 to an idiot on a pitbike and everything inbetween. So def not discriminating against them.

Like I said in a previous post I own a rhino and would never consider it to be a woodsbuggy or pipebuggy. Ive rode with and still ride my buggys with several guys in rhinos and rzrs. A side by side will never be able to go and climb and do the things a true woodsbuggy will do. Ive tryed several things in my rhino that I did in my buggys and it was a failed attempt. Im not trying to piss anyone off but ive rode these things and know the capabilitys of them. Lets just ride and have a good time.

There will always be poor people like myself who will still ride the homemade woodsbuggy. With 1/2 inch drive craftsman universal joints on the steering shaft. 1641 engine cause I can't afford a big hammer. ect. ect .ect....

The running gear maybe but you are kidding yourself if you think people are going to quit building there own offroad rigs . I saw a full tube custom built rzr "powered" buggy at lbl last year riding with some guys on here and it was bad ass but I dont consider it a rzr anymore . Just like my buggy is not a vw beetle anymore or your old car isnt a forester anymore .

Anybody that would bash a side x side is an idiot. We carry our rhino rideing with us all the time. Its nice to have something like it in the crowd. If you break something it gets to the truck faster and easier for parts or call pull you back to the truck with no problem. i couldnt count on both hands and feet how many woodsbuggys my rhino has pulled back to the truck.

look at it this way google woodsbuggy and will you ever see a pick of a sxs no cause its not one so its cant be buggy of the month cause its not a buggy and no way will it ever become the new buggy or take a buggies place flip a sxs 5 times off rock wall or long hill it will be destroyed and cost you out the ass to fix if it can be now roll your buggy off it and alot of times its ok and rdy for another try pluss the rock walls we climb in a buggy a sxs would not even have a chance

Steve, to me it is not the platform, it is the build I have issue with for BOTM. Ody's Odysey is a complete custom build. No, its not what we consider a true woodsbuggy, but it has all the major aspects and was mostly built in his garage like our buggies. Most would not agree with me and I understand why. But I am not ok with an assemblyline-buggy in any form winning BOTM. I want to see the creativity, craftsmanship and garage engineering at work. Just my two peices of copper. You start throwing toyota axles under that thing, a custom tube frame, arms and a tranny & Transfer case from an old brovada in it and I will vote for ya

Ill bust your balls all summer steve and you'll make fun of me, but we will be in the woods having fun like always so fudge it. Steve you are always welcome on woodsbuggy.com in my opinion and don't let these random swinging dicks make you feelany different.

i dont care if you started this site!!!!! its called woodsbuggy for a reason and if you wanted to be a contender for botm then you should have kept your woods buggy  fu%^ a razor  bring any modified razor to tn and ill show you how pick up the pieces on the way back to the truck

my 2 cents, for what its worth 8)

a sxs is not a woodsbuggy, neither is a gocart with a roll cage or tube chassis 4x4 etc, etc. and never will be imo.

with that being said, i do tend to hear more and more people refer to each of the above as a "buggy", the way i see it is, woodsbuggy.com was "created" for "sand rail" type buggy owners/riders that ride in the woods instead of the sand and that many years ago when the concept first began were mostly vw "based" in running gear and powertrain, to me that is what constitutes a "woodsbuggy".

now does any of this mean i dont like sxs's or anything else that rides in the woods,,,,,,,,,,,,, no it most definantly does not. i have ridden with and in and also driven several different sxs's and plan to buy a rzr myself one of these days (not that in no way im getting rid of the woddsbuggy's i got), and have already owned caged 4x4's, and go carts. however i do agree that there are forums for those type of vehicles and that is where i talked about 4x4 stuff, just like i will get on a sxs forum when i get me a rzr

just my opinions 8)
