So your saying a socker mom can kick your VW ass all the way to the grocery store and back and everywhere in between. Just saying.

I have been keeping my eye out for some carbs and even used, $500 for a good set of webers is fair. New webers are in the $700 range. As long as they are "ready to run" I think its worth buying. I'm always afraid of buying a set of basket case carbs used, which leans me towards some new empi's when I go ahead in the next couple weeks. Good luck!

$500 is a pretty decent deal for 2 "Geniue" weber carbs IMO. You do not want to buy "Empi" webers, they are JUNK. There is nothing wrong with fuel injection, but I like to keep it simple....VW=carbs, subaru=fuel injection  Dual carbs on a VW runs flawless if you set it up properly and jetted it correctly. If I am going water cooled, (Ecotech, subaru, etc)....I would run what it came with from the factory

I don't think I would go that far. THe first versions that cam out had problems, but the new ones run good. I have several buddies running them with no problems.

That is good that they have no problems with them, to me, anything Empi is JUNK, I have nothing but bad luck with them, my buggy is now EMPI free and never misses a beat since then

Yea its 500 shipped, they are complete with linkage etc... Came off his running motor. The only problem I see is that ima have to widen the frame to fit them in . the ad says genuine spanish webers? But they say weber on the carbs. they are on the samba under dual carbs in the search.
