Same problem I have H-a-H. Need to have the pitman arm as close to the center of the beam as possible and forward as much as you can. This will keep the trailing arms and the tie rods in a much closer arc so as to eliminate bumb steer. The power addition will help greatly though. The problem is as the suspension cycles the distance between the pitman and the conection at the spindle changes with the tire pointed in the same direction. This gets amplified in a turn due to the pivot point on the spindles being on the opposite side of the pivot on the pitman arm. I have thought of running the box upside down with the arm facing the driver to remedy this, not sure how it would work.

i agree with everone too you need to keep you rack as close to the beam as possible and to answer your question giveitagallon i had the same problem as you and ended up putting a heavy duty steering stabilizer on mine and it cured it. i ran the first part of last summer without the stabilizer and didnt think i needed it because the new power steering was 1,000 times better than a stock vw box (hint jeff clay) but after i put the stabilizer on it was perfect.if you want to check it out sometime just let me know.and jeff power steering rocks, paint it pink and put it on your buggy you wont be dissapointed.plus you can give me a handy and still be able to drive when i ride with you.

I have a few little dirt mounds and 4wheeler jumps etc... back in my woods I went back there hit every stump i came to and hit the dirt mounds and jumps sideways and it didnt pull outta my hands or steer the opposite direction at all. even with the suspension fully compressed i still had control . I also used the chain hoist and compressed the suspension with it hanging in the garage and still had no binding or movement by itself in the steering. SO. my conclusion is for now its staying where its at because it seems to work flawlessly. Ima take it down here in a few weeks and ill find out for sure. Thanks for the opinions but it seems great to me.

also if you look at the post rack & pinion made easy, the racks they have mounted in the pictures are about the same distance away from the beam as mine, and someones post clearly states to keep things as level and in a straight line as possible. SO I think itll work with no problems

Give her hell and let us know. The only time mine is really an issue seems to be when it climbs up the side of ruts, and with the power steering it does not pull out of my hands. I just see it turn slightly.

I havent even bothered with power steering yet, This past weekend was the first time i made it to wellsville. Very pleased with it with just the line looped on the rack. I might play around with power steering before memorial day. If i do ill post pics.
