You can run a air shock but you will have more tuneability with a dual rate coil over.10 in shocks will be fine.

Your shock travel will be determined by the articulation of your tie rods in your frame make sure your not bottoming out or raising to high as to hit your frame. Are you making your own shock mounts or are they already on the beam? Coil overs are great once you get them tuned in and unless you've got the money and time to change out springs then I'd go with the fox air shocks buy them bolt them up adjust the pressure and be done. I love mine and unless I was going to run baja or race it I wouldn't spend the time and Money on coils, jmo. Chad

I love my fox air shocks except for the schrader valve, I've broken 3 off in the last few years. My buddy just bought some sway a way racerunner air shocks, they have a recessed scharder valve with a cap and they hold 1000lbs per corner. If I ever get another set it will be race runners.
