Is it posible to take out the torshion bar in a ball joint front end so i can put could over shocks on?

It is possible to do, just add through bolts. I would question why?

Because i bought my buggy with the front end already welded so the front end sits at max height. This makes the ride really rough. I basically want to convert to coil overs so i have a softer ride without having to buy an entire new front end.

Have you considered extending the trailing arms to take advantage of the coil-overs? If they aren't already extended.

Yep take your grub screws out all the way around. The torsions slide out. The hole left by the torsions is more than large enough for some threaded rod.

Can i get extended ball joint arms?

They can be made, just a matter of setting up a good jig.

The holes left by the torsion seem a bit too big. is there something im missing?

i think most folks weld a plate over the end and then drill a hole in the center for the thru rod or either use a couple of thick washers on each side, but im sure somebody else will chime in

I think some weld a washer to the arm that has the right size hole. Or you can up the diameter of the rod your using.

Sorry if this seems highjacking ,
But has any one used the through rod on just one torsion, say either the top or bottom. I mean most every buggy I have seen with a BJ front have both torsions in, That front end was ment to carry a full size sedan, not a light weight buggy.
What's everybody's thought?

If your front end is to stiff you can take out 1 or 2 springs but if you do make sure you take the same amount top and bottom.
