Has anyone converted a swing axle mid engine buggy to some form of 'non swing axle' suspension?

I've seen a few sand rails with 5 link setups, but look too fragile for woods use, wonder if anyone has done a beefier version?

I'm looking for more travel...

Well I'v come up with a design and done some layouts, thought I was being clever until I realised its exactly the same as the rear suspension of the new Polaris RZR XP 900!!

Oh well, I least I know it will work!
